I Dyno'ed my Supra at SILV on thursday...I thought my results were a little low...my Supra is bone stock 7M-GTE, with ~8psi boost (4 shims). What does everyone think? Should I have expected more?

That's awesome jonathan! Never do I see someone dyno a bone-stock mk3 supra before...usually its people who have done rebuilds or upgrades with their engines. Those are actually decent numbers...your torque power is somewhat insane! Anyway...How was SILV 06?

wow just noticed your max tourque is at 3200rpm..... thats wild

stock is 230hp/246tq for a pre 89. and most near stock dyno's are lie that for torque.. heres mine

Jonathon.........glad you had the balls to post a number under 200. The listed stock 235 HP is a crank number, and I suspect there are plenty of under 200 WHP cars here on the boards. There is a perception that all Supras have 300WHP+, and it's just not the case. Plenty of people use their car for a daily driver, and not a track beast.

My guess is, with shimmed wastegate, you will continue to upgrade over time.

torque is excellent.... my supra was pretty much bone stock for 11 yrs, there's no shame in that. i terrorized the city of toronto with only stock boost ;)

btw - can you post up some more pictures from SILV? i'm sure you've taken a lot by now!!! i'm anxious to see pics of everyones cars, especially the mk3s

lol...Thanks guys! I wasn't embarrassed to post up here after like 50 people saw the numbers at the dyno...:icon_razz

I did think the torque was pretty good...I was actually kinda surprised at the results, because the car seems to pull really hard, harder than another stock MK3 I drove... What would account for the high torque numbers, and why is the max torque RPM wild?

Yea, I thought the numbers were about right, and in the dyno video, my car was so quiet...you couldn't even really hear when the turbo spooled...lol I plan on upgrading to a 3in. catback exhaust very soon, that's next on the list, and then maybe cut up the stock intake box...that should keep me happy for a while.:biglaugh:

As for SILV...it was awesome! I did the Scenic drive, the dyno challenge (obviously), and I participated in the show and shine. It was great, I'll upload some crappy digital pics in a minute, as that's all I have right now...(gotta develop 35mm still)

Hey Jonathan, I dont think those are all that bad RWHP #'s for a stock 7M.
Mine's stock, and I highly doubt it makes that at the wheels...
