I still have the supra :evil2:

The porsche is my dads. LOL

Its not just a regular 996. Its a 4s. VERY rare option. There are only 6 in the USA for sale right now.

All wheel drive with PSM
porsche turbo aero/underbody kit and wheels/brakes. Pretty much a turbo without the turbo motor. He did not need the extra power. This thing is quick as it is!

I drove it for an hour or two today. I can say without a doubt this is the finest automobile I have ever driven. So well balanced and appointed. Just CRISP and CLEAN!

Beautiful car!
Well, I guess you get to drive it as if it were your own car, but not have to pay for the insurance.

On a side note, I personally would not have titled the thread as "Got a new ride today," but then, lots of people make threads with titles that I would never use.

I know your dad is a rich fellow. Seen your house - very impressive indeed!
Can't help but wonder what he does for a living. I am always intruiged with success and how it is obtained.

Now if only I were local, I would somehow try to convince you to let me drive that thing. lol

Oh yeah, I always wished that Porsche would make wheels that did not look backwards (as seen on the right side of the car). It seems so wrong to have the twist be forwards. On all the sport bike rims I have seen, the spokes are always angled back and never forward, and that goes for many cars as well. Sawblades are the same way too.
Still, one cool ride!

Interesting, I always liked the way they looked, and this is no exception.

well CA has the worlds largest Porsche dealership. Somewhere in the vicinity of 50% of all Porsches imported into the USA go there! Learned that when I was selling cars.

I am on the insurance for the car.
I traded MY truck in on the car to get out of negative equity that I accrued when I traded my old Civic Si. Kind of worked a bit of magic to do so, but we did it LMAO:biglaugh:

I 100% am the one that really got the ball rolling on the car. My dad has this weird thing with spending money. He always starts spouting out pro's and con's LOL. He saw the car and simply fell in love (love at first sight). The C6 Z06 never had that effect on him.

The wheels actually look better in person, in fact the whole car does look better in person. So friggen wide! huge tires in the back (295-35-18) as they are the twin turbo wheels. The monoblock brembo 4 pots in the front dwarf my brothers Z's 4 pot's.

And I have driven a twin turbo porsche 996 ( my friends dad has one a 2000 model with 3000 miles) and to my dismay the turbo's really drowned out the sound of the motor.

The n/a 3.6 just sounds so smooth and at full throttle actually hurt my left eardrum as my brother hammered the gas passed me as I was driving in my other truck getting a visual of what the car looks like cruising!:aigo:

Either way, its a blast! I never would of imagined an N/A car with such spunk!
And its 10X better than any corvette ( C6 ). The interior is just all business, every single piece of interior is high quality plastic or leather. Every bit of it "flows" into another part of the interior. All the colors are just executed very well.
The corvette is all plastic and very bland. And you cant complain that a Porsche Carrera 4s is going to get alot more looks than a C6 vette. I litterally see like 10 C6's a day. But off bashing the cars, the Corvette is really all about power, where the porsche is just simply refined.

anywho thanks for the compliments. The supra is in storage facility as of right now, just taking it slow on the build.

My father grew up in poverty, growing up in 4 different states during his highschool career. Lots of family troubles made him grow up very quickly.

He spent 8 years in college getting as many business degrees as he could possibly get. Him and my mom both understood this long of a stay in college would be torture on the bank account. I grew up in low income housing for the first 12 years of my life.

He has held the VP chair of finance for (American) Healthways for 5 years running now. http://www.healthways.com/Home/Default.asp I just read in a business magazine that they were voted #1 Fastest growing and most profitable small LARGE business ( or something around those last lines)

Success is never easy. Money does not come fast. But when goals are obtained you can live out your dreams.
