My dad bought a new car...

I freakin love it, and I havent even seen it in person yet.. he gets back from vancouver with it today! It's a 1976 Porsche 911 that has been completely restored. Brand new paint, new wide body, new upgraded 3.0L flat 6 motor, new 5spd tranny, pretty much new everything... :aigo:

I can't wait to drive it!

haha I know... he used to be really into porsche's a while back.. then he got back into the street bike thing... got his harley and it looked like he would never go back to cars... then one day I see him pulling his bike out to wash it and he had is camera with him... I asked him what he was doing and he said "selling it."... I looked at him wierd and then he said "let me show you the porsche i'm buying"... my jaw hit the floor as soon as he said it.. it should be here in about 5 hours!

(funny how he wants a car right after I get my supra... hmmmmm.... :biglaugh: )

That.......is extremely sexy. I raced one a while back, I thought it was slow and ugly. The widebody really sets it off...kinda reminds me of a 959.

Ive gottens o many questions about that wing and I have no damn clue. But I now know its not stock and I LOVE it. Im gonna snap a bunch of pics and post them for public display.

Hmm.. it's got an upgraded 3.0L flat 6 in it... I think it's a little over 300hp in a 2500lb car.... it aint gonna be too slow.. also I think they also call this one a 930.. i dont know a lot about porsche's...

what you raced was probably one with the 2.7L pushing only 165hp

yup he will ... after all I let him drive my supra, that's fair right? haha... seriously tho, he'll let me drive it, he'd probably need to be in the car to let me drive it tho, still I get to drive it haha... personally I'd rather drive my supra.

haha, I've seen a couple supras with whale tails... not the same style (but a solid wing that comes up off the hatch).... they dont look too bad.

well just got to drive it... holy shit... my god... wow.... I wish it was mine... so much damn power.... haha and so many looks from people it's nuts, people asking us about it and stuff while we are at lights... it's a wild experience. :biglaugh:

Just got back from a trip over from vancouver so it's a little dirty, so we are going to wash it and i'll get some more pics of it!

So here's the scoop on it...
-$15,000 spent on body and paint
-Upgraded 3.0L Turbocharged Flat Six
-about another $15,000 spent on upgrades for the motor

Guy built it as a race car, but stopped before he put a full cage in, and used it as his car and put about 4,000km on it.. then traded it in on a new 911 turbo.

I think it looks newer than a 76 eh haha...

supra for grand touring long high speed runs,
porsche for spirited mountain roads
xj220 for all out speed
sti for rallying
and a landrover defender for 4x4 fun.

you got 2 from my list, nothing like a car to bring a father and son closer together.
