Sorry to hear that DM. I remember when my dad took our family dog to be put down. I was 9, man I cried all night long. Just try to remember the good times you had with him, man i'm tearing up. +1 for Eddie. Cheers bud.

I lost my best friend/cat my freshman year of high school. I haven't been able to own a cat since because I guess I'm just too sensitive to lose another cat. I can't imagine a better cat then him too ( his name was Elvis ).

Speaking of cats my ex-girlfriends cat ( i still live with her ) just had a blocked urinary track... he had some crystals blocking his penis so he couldnt pee. But she works at a vet thank god, so as soon as we noticed somethign was wrong we brought him in to get him looked at, found the problem, and he is now getting better. Whew.

GL man hang in there.

Two things.

Not to be all up in your grill about it, but why are you living with your ex-g/f?

Also, that was way too much detail about that cat's penis. Just leaving it at a urinary tract infection would've been ample. Please don't do that ever again.

Dammit.. I just got a call tonight from my Mom. My parents live in Arizona. When I enlisted in the Air Force over 8 years ago, there was no way that I could take my cat, Spunky [named after the dog from the Nickelodeon cartoon "Rocko's Modern Life"] with me. He essentially became their cat, and my Dad's best friend. Mom told me that the cat died on Sunday. He has had kidney problems over the past couple years and they think that he died from it finally. I guess he was urinating ALOT - the clumps in his litter were huge. Maybe his kidneys just gave out. Poor guy. Mom was out of town visiting family in California and Dad came home and found Spunky "sleeping". It must have broken Dad's heart. This is just NOT a good week for cats!
..so I'll be drinking to another great pet this weekend as well.
I hope everyone else's animals are all happy and healthy!

That is actually a common thing that happens with male cats if they eat certain types of cat food... I think if they are too high in magnesium? I've heard about this - it's a life or death situation for a cat.
