Even though i dont live in Canada, i think that it is time for you to reveal this mechanic's name and where he works, there are plenty of people on this forum who live in canada and im sure that they dont want to make the same mistake that you did by going to this so called "mechanic". The more you reveal, the shadier the situation is becoming. Ive dealt with my share of incompetent mechanics and what i would do is go get your car and either fix it yourself or find a reputable shop to take your supra to. I have a feeling that this is only gonna get worse for you.:nono:

No, not gaskets leaks. The big cracks running down the side of the manifolds, head, and block are at fault.

Of course gasket leaks. Or hoses. Or pipes. Anything that pukes fluids on the engine is going to smoke and smell. Or maybe it's an exhaust leak in the engine compartment. This car sounds like a steaming pile. He doesn't work on Asian cars? Why did you take it there to begin with? Now that it's running you need to either take it elsewhere or bring it home and get some help. You can do the master and slave cylinder yourself.

Hes a mercedes benz and BMW specialist. I dont want to get into detail, but I doubt anyone is going to go to this mechanic since he usually doesnt work on asian cars.
i dont really considerate being disrespectful by not being discrete about his business, he obviously doesnt respect you by treating you the way he has. im sorry, this is only my opinion, but the same thing just happened to me and i guess im just taking this kinda personal, and i hate mechanics like this! but...good luck

I figured that my exhaust manifold may be cracked. Could that be the case? I sure as hope that the head and block are not cracked... Will the turbo smoke if its finished cause the compressor wheel is chipped to shreds and I have a new one to put in.

If you tell him the head and block are cracked it'll magically come true ;)

I'm just playin' with you. You need to relax son. Everything will be fine. If this guy is any kind of pro at all he'll cut you some slack on the work. Just tell him to fix the simple stuff so you can get the car back. I have to wonder why you took it there or why he even accepted the job since the difference in how the Germans and Japanese engineer things is like two different planets.

Kyle you should talk to Rupinder on the TSC board. I'm sending him my car in May. His shop is designed around the MK3 community. He's been the president of the TSC for years! (Cryo can attest to this, his brother is sending his car to Rupinder as well.)

The cause of those things is his house or car payment is due.
That is just awesome!

Kyle, did he spill fluid on your block? I did that once, not realizing, or I forgot or something, and when I started the motor, when it got hot, it was smoking, I about freaked out, and it turned out I had a little oil on the block, once it burned off, no more smoke...

I have no idea RM. I am nowhere near the shop to even take a peek. He actually told me to come by to look at it, but I'm just too far away. He didnt spill oil on it because he hasnt even done anything yet except for starting the car and letting it run. He said he noticed the smoke and the smell of oil, but then again ya never know right?

your mechanic makes me wanna buy a gun:evil2: lol
if your clutch pedal went to the floor it means you lost all the brake fluid
it probably leaked out..and theres your smell.. has he looked under the car yet?lol
the best thing you can do for your car is get it back from this guy as quickly as possible

"he hasnt even done anything yet" you just said it yourself;)
give him $0.30 for the electrical tape :3d_frown:

brake and clutch systems are completely separate. Clutch lines are not routed anywhere near hot parts of the engine unless the car is RHD. So try again.

Jake makes a good point,
another to add is if he's been touching the turbo or exhaust manifold with his bare hands, the greases from our hands get on there and smoke off as it warms up, I found this out after my BHG fix I did, and I freaked out. haha.
Get it to a mechanic that KNOWS supras!

after hearing so many members tell you to take it to a mechanic who is familiar with the mk3, you still let it remain in this loser's hands. you dont mention anything good that he is doing for you or your car but yet you still let him work on it and charge you, i dont understand.:aigo:
