Cars still run with major leaks after the turbo and before the turbo.... I have a pretty big hole in my accordian hose and my car runs fine. At idle i am bouncing between 14.7 and 15.8 A/F and at full boost at 14psi i am in the 11's. I think you have some other issues that you arent aware of.

If you took the pipe completely off but had the AFM plugged up the car would still run but it would run like crap. You are stalling because of something else ...... Check for leaks, check your BVP, check you vac lines that run on the intake side (one of them is for fuel pressure) and pull the engine codes.

First thing. Check your codes. You can learn how to do this by clicking the link in my signature. It's a good thing to know how to do, and always the first thing I check.
The CPS is located at the front of the engine (nearest the radiator) on the passenger side. Just below the valve cover in between the power steering pump if memory serves me correctly. Sorry I can't find a picture.

Wiggle the cps wires , weak harness

^^^ Sounds like the CPS wiring to me too ;)

When it's running, try wiggling them. If the car dies, then there's your problem. I have to wiggle mine to start it sometimes. My wires are going bad down at the base where they go into the cps. Here's a pic of the wires.
CPS on turbo replaced distributor.

^^^ Yep!
I have seen codes 12 & 13 associated with this problem though. Also a code 14, but never quite figured out why that one would show since it's associated with the igniter.

I used to get 14 all the time. The car launches so hard that the old harness would pull out of its receptacle.

You should really re-wire it, but in my case I think a dielectric grease will help.

thanks, I wiggled some wires nothing happend, I think I have to take the engine cover off, check wires there, if nothing, I will take it to the garage and have the codes run on the computer, I have to do thr timing anyway.

do you guys think, that is what the problem is? If I were hook the computer up to it, should a code show up, or could it be something else, anyone else have this problem?

i had an issue with a random misfire and occasionally it would start. endd up pulling the insulation off the cps wires going across the valve covers and they had cracks in them most the way across. taped them all up individually then wrapped again as a whole to clean the harness back up and the prob was solved.
