I've been working on my car and getting it ready for paint over the last few months. Most of the work was done by me with lots of help from the guys I work with. Finally got it painted on monday and put it all back together today.

Here's the link to the progression photo album:

I thought some people might be interested so have a look and let me know what you think. The colour is black with a slight blue pearl with three coats of clear.

There are still a few things to do (overspray removal, door jams, trim, etc)but it's pretty much done.
enjoy
cheers

Looks good. I wish I could see more of the blue pearl. It doesn't show up too good in the pics. Does it show up in person?

looks very nice! the reflections are quite crisp.
did you paint underhood? behind the trim?
looks good from the outside, but, a white engine bay on a black car isn't too appealing.. not to mention the white stripe that will be there when/if you lose a side moulding...

there's some blue pearl in that pic. if it doesn't come up with the specific picture, it's #39

That looks really good.
I'd really like to see it in person though to really appreciate the color, it looks like it's really nice, but hard to tell with the pictures.

Glad you're not driving the supe in the snow?
We got plenty of ice and snow down here in Washington that I'm struggling with in my supe. DD status, what up!

Wow thanks guys! I'm kinda glad I haven't put my springs in yet because the snow in the driveway was fairly high. I only drove it home from the bodyshop today and it's in the garage for a while, at least until the snow is gone.

Part of the reason the pearl isn't showing up great is because the car is covered in dust from sitting overnight in the bodyshop...i didn't want to scratch the fresh paint by wiping it all off. I'll have to take some better pictures in the sunlight, it really jumps out at you in person. I'm happy I went with that colour, I had been planning on a white pearl but that can make the car look permanently dirty.

There's two little dirt nibs and my hand print that need to be polished out in the spring. I had to press on the nose piece pretty hard to thread a nut so i left a print.

It didn't cost me all that much to do because I did most of it myself. Like i said i had lots of help so I bought some cases of beer and some rum but other than that it was cost of supplies(I still haven't found out howmuch they're charging me for the paint...)

Once the weathers better i'll put it out in the sun and see if I can't get that pearl to show up in the pictures. Thanks again for the complements guys, it was a lot of work but its awesome to hear that people like it too!
cheers

...Oh and the car was the stock black-m before I painted it so under the hood is black too.

I didn't pull the trim because some of it was urethaned on and the gaps are pretty big between body and trim so the painter didn't have any trouble. Only thing left to do it get rid of some primer overspray on the trim and light.
