Hvyman: I think it will look good on my car since it is black, other colors might look strange.
supra91gsxr06: ? you talking about weight? If so I would say 10-15 kg extra.
Slimlim: Thanks man, appreciate it.

I used the Flaming River Mustang 5.0 quick ratio rack.
Do you anticipate heavy steering? ...I wanted to convert my rack over to manual but ive driven a supra with the power steering disconnected and it was extremely heavy. If these racks gave positive feel then id consider buying one.

Regarding the flaming river rack: I use OEM rack bushings after modifying the FR rack alot. I also use OEM tie rods after making an adapter from inches to mm. It was alot of work and I cant tell anything of the feeling because I havnt driven the car with this setup. But I can almost guarante that parallellparking will suck ass ;)

I too used the OEM rack bushings but I didnt modify the rack to the extend that they would fit 100%. I ended up clipping them parallel to the rack to get them to fit. What kind of adapter? Did you use both OEM inner and outer with the adapter between the rack and the inner? I used early 90's Mustang outer tie rods with an extension for the passenger side.

Parallel parking isn't too bad, steering the car car when not moving isn't to tough. I bet you will really like the steering, but one thing I can say, the quicker ratios when going real fast make for a touchy steering wheel.

The adapter I had made is inner threads that fit the FR-rack and outer threads that fit the OEM tierods. Then of course cutting the FR-rack inner so they get the right lenght.

Brusilov: Thanks!

did u have to do any mods to the transmission tunnel for the v160 to fit in the mk3? apart from wider opening for the shifter to mount.

do u have any pics of ur rear end work? was the rear subframe reinforced in anyway?

what application is the car being built?

I have my mk3 project that is going to get kicked off soon.
but want to make it a versatile track car. straight line, solodex, drift

so im looking ppl's build for ideas and suggestions.

regards,
