is this with or without vacuum line? with vacuum line on, pressure will drop about 5psi till u press on throttle

does your vac stay the same at both points? if the vac varies, that would explain it. if not, could be the fuel pump, or the valve inside the fpr is sticking. the higher the boost, the higher the fuel pressure, i.e. the further the valve moves. then it doesnt "reset" to where it was before.

check the fuel filter. otherwise, your fuel pump is either wearing out or its the wiring for the pump, or the gauge itself. feel the wires going into the tank. if they are hot, like too hot to hang onto, its altering the resistance for the worse. its requring more current to do the same job.

when the guage leaks out its glycol filling, the readings change. ive seen 4 faulty guages so far, which all leaked the glycol out.

Is this gauge mounted under the hood, and is it liquid filled? If you answer yes to these questions, your condition is normal. The pressure readings on this type of gauge will vary when hot/warm.

So how do you get a true reading?

What would a "normal" setting be?

Oil filled gauges will change with temperature due to the pressure differential inside the gauge body. Many manufacturers and resellers note this on their website.

Vacuum, actually, idle will change for lots of reasons, varying vacuum.
