I know it's a bit late to start a build thread since I'm in the middle of it, but hey better late then never.

In May 2006, My parents started letting me drive my sister's supra. It was an '87 Supra NA hardtop. It was leaking everything. When I would rev it more than 3500 rpm it would smell like burning rubber. It was horrible. I thought it was about time for my own car. I always loved supras so started searching I found a Red 1990 Toyota Supra NA targa on auto trader in NE Philly. Some lady was selling it because she was having a hard time getting in and out of it. She sold a supra to buy a Yaris! Anyway. She was asking 4500. I got it for 3700.

I drove it for some time but I wanted more power. I looked around. I found a 1JZ clip for 2500 shipped on ebay. I also found a place called JDM Exchange that would do the swap. Turns out that, that would be the worst decision I"ve ever made.

I'm sure if you look closely there isn't a belt going around the water pump nor powersteering pump. Not realizing the waterpump wasnt' hooked up. I drove it home. The gauges weren't working. Tail lights weren't working. blower fan, windshield washer pump, the fuse for the fan kept blowing. They put the wrong clutch and brake pedal in. When i would brake it would hit the steering column. the clutch would hit the foot rest on the left. Some how I drove it downtown to my work and started working on it. I bought a mk4 mech. water pump, thermostat, new upper radiator hose. I went to the junkyard and ripped out some ma70 pedals, bought a new clutch master cylinder. I installed all of that. Later I ordered a HKS Super Power Flow Intake.

Couple months later I started to hear a loud whine when driving. Slowly I lost all boost. So I order from Driftmotion some new parts. Exhaust manifold for the cT26. Stainless steel Oil lines. I bought a BIC elbo/downpipe from someone on here. Then ordered some 2.5" hardpipes off of ebay and some nice silicone couplers from extreme psi in philly.

So the other day, my friend hears this kid talking about this red car on the street we live on. "A supra with a targa. It sounded like it had a turbo. I want that car. He better watch out there's been a lot of sports cars stolen lately around hear. I wouldn't be suprised if that went." This is what my friend told me. So I went to Best Buy and looked around for an alarm system. Then walked right out. kinda expensive. So I went to circuit city. EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE! I took my car to work and left it there for couple days. It's a secure garage. I went online and found a Viper alarm system. for $200.

A day later I installed everything myself properly. Hiding all the wires and modules so it looks stock, unlike what bestbuy, circuit city or any other shop that does wiring will do. 1 mile range, 2 way pager, remote start, hood trigger, door trigger, shock sensor, motion sensor for when the top is off and hatch sensor, turbo timer. Plus a kill switch hidden around somewhere. Later I'll add a window module so I can roll the windows down before I get in a burning hot car!

Present day...Next stage is coming up. So... all this time I forgot to mention that I can't shift into second gear. EVER! I can't start from second shift, nor down shift into second. It feels like it goes in but when i let out the clutch it pops right out and starts grinding. I can rarely get into reverse without a problem. Also when the clutch is out i hear a rattling noise, but when the clutch is in its nice and quiet. I searched around here and found a used r154transmission out of an 88 supra turbo. Time to rebuild the transmision. I started to take the transmission apart a week ago. It's really dirty. The old engine it was apart of was leaking oil and coolant. I started to clean it with a rag. After a couple rags, I realized I'm going to need something else to clean it with. I'm going to go get some degreaser, gasket maker and thread sealant after work today. I ordered the rebuild kit on monday. I picked it up on tuesday. I'll post pictures of it soon.

So, when are you going to get traction? Sawblades + 1JZ = no traction. I picked up my 17's with very sticky wet/dry rubber for only for only $1400 new. Time t upgrade bro.

I will I will. I'm only running 7psi right now. I good enough traction right now. Once I get the transmission done and up the boost. Then I'll need traction. hehe. My buddy ryan will hook me up with tires. Bought tires for my na from him. NICE TRACTION!
