sup everyone,
just wanted to get some input on my plans for the 1jz, i hope no1 has done it yet, but i hope you may have some knowledge on some aspects of my future plans... i already know that have of you wonderfull people out there will hate on me, and my comments. so i just want to apoligze for anything that may happen.....but any who lets start with the list.
1) single
a. t88, or t72 ball bearing or what ever the first crack head brings to me(crack heads have the best prices)
b. single manifold 321 ss. hopefully coated
2) nice huge oil cooler,
3) aem full stand alone (i kno it doesnt work with 1jz, but i have my ways and a very knowledable uncle who own Comperssion Motors. used to be called hi-tek racing in new jesrsey)
4) 1000cc injectors,
5) either 1 big external fuel pump, or my uncle old trick twin internals
6) rods which i will need but will have to wait a longer time to get...
i tink thats all my plans are for now, but im sure theres more when i get to those points, i plan to able to hit 700whp.... i hope.

i know u wanna mock and moan and cus at me for having these hopes, but im sowwie...

well i cant wait to get some input.....

Go to supraforums they have a thread in there on how to get the 2jz one to work. Its in the 1jz faq.

t88 with a 1jz would be a mismatch if ever there was one. t-72 could possibly make 800hp on a 2.5L engine, with lag for days...
t-72 would be better suited for an engine that could make around 500hp at 14 psi. And you will be too close to the surge line across most of the compressor map. I don't doubt you could make 700whp+, but it will be a dyno queen. t-66 would be better. The 1jz is built just a strong as the 2jz, with shorter rods. Should be able to handle 83.33% of what the 2jz does, and people make 1000hp on a stock block 2jz, so I would guess you could make 830hp with a stock block 1jz. (just my .02)

yep 1jz is every bit as good as a 2jz.. but meant for powergoals in the lower hp band. even w/ the lower hp you should still reach your max hp quicker while driving w/ the 2.5L. I guess it depends on what you want to do with the car. :).

t88 = too big

i run a garret T51R ball bearing on my internally standard 1jzgte, standard head and cams. it is a laggy bitch and i run a T4 flange rear housing not the standard TA45 flange that comes on them.

i run the toyota auto behind mine and without nitrous it makes 440 rwhp this is on a wheel dyno (im in australia). and it makes 500 with a 46 shot of gas.

it runs consistant 10.4 Ets and 134 MPH on radials. this would suggest its making more like 600 at the tyres to move 3440 pounds to 134 mph trap speed

without the gas its a lag monster. my rods are fine, the engine has done 188000 kilometres without being opened. i believe 800 at the flywheel is the limit on the bottom end from my research and personal experience.

if your just chasing power and not worried about lag, then go the T88 but you will need to run internals cams and head work to make the power and not have issues. i would have thought it would be cheaper to do with a 2j though.
