Do you have existing fuel pressure, or are you having to build the rail pressure up each time you start the car?

Is it automatic or manual? Or converted?

I know the plugs that connect to the tranny hate the cold and can cause symptoms like that. Mine did the same thing for those nice could evenings we had in fl a week or two ago. It would take about 4 cranks to start.

After 2 attempts to start the car I then begin to try and build rail pressure thinking it may be dry but that can't be it because other times it cranks right up and its a 5 speed not converted

Doesn't throw any codes unless I hit the limiter and if my ecu were bad wouldn't the car crank but not start at all? The car starts after numerous tries could this be the beginning of it starting to fail?

I said ECU coolant sensor, not ECU. If it's shifted the ECU won't provide starting and warm up enrichment. How does it run right after it starts?

It could be other things. What supraguy said for example. Since it appears to be fuel related you need to check stuff. Does the fuel pump run when the engine is being cranked? Does it run when the diag block is jumped? Does the engine start better after that's done? Does it help to hold the pedal halfway down? What did you have for breakfast? How many rubber bands in your house? Isn't a two month radius one month?

Cold should not effect how the engine starts and runs...that's one of the primary benefits of EFI. Try the starting fluid and check the CSI and TTS like I said...

nobody has mentioned the igniter yet....just a guess

Do us all a favor and don't "guess" in the Tech sections...it doesn't help at all and often leads off on a tangent.

Reading this for my own benefit.

What is TTS??? Having a brain cramp I guess.

Temperature Time Switch that limits how long the CSI functions.

Perhaps a dumb question considering your name but, what motor is it?

Yes it is considering he posted this in the 7M Tech section...then again, it wouldn't be the 1st time someone doesn't pay attention to where they post.

lol its a 7m and i think it maybe fuel related because i have to pump the gas a few times to get it started i can also hear the fuel pump engaging ill check a few other things tomorrow but you are right the temperature shouldnt have an effect on the way any motor performs which is why im annoyed
