You problee had the arp studs with the allen head. That's how you got them in. Back before that, only way it could be done was to do what I recommended. I don't know if I like to do that or not. I'd rather not have to find those tiny dowel pins with a heavy ass 7m head in my hands while bending over the fender. That would get heavy quick if i didn't find the holes. Not to mention the gouging that those steel dowels could do to the head.

Gross weight isn't the vehicle weight. It's max capacity. The car should weigh around 3600 or so.

ftw is "for the win". It's some elite hacker speak that's made it's way onto about every single message board out there. I think it's ftl if you ask me. :)

Ding ding ding! :)
It actually wasnt too bad. We got it on the first try. dropped right on the pins. No moving it around or fidgeting trying to find the pins while digging huge holes in the head, etc.
This thing is amazingly easy to work on, maybe Im just jaded from having to hang over the trunk and pillars on an MR2 and having to remove 20,000 useless brackets on an alltrac to get to the valve cover, but it actually came apart and went back together fairly easily, knock on wood.

yeah, 4400lbs is loaded, but keep in mind my old mr2 was 2800 lbs "loaded" according to the door. I think Im gonna name her the killer whale. hahahaha.

Well, I got her running again tonight. Found that nice little treat toyota left for me on the EGR, so in the morning Im going to make a block off plate. Then Ive got to figure out why she keeps dying on me like she is.

It gets up to temp fine, no leaks (aside from that EGR thing), but she's idling low and wont stay running for too long before just puttering out. Ive played with the timing a little, and I noticed the screw on the FPR was almost all the way backed out, so I adjusted it back in some. Im thinking Ive got a vacuum leak somewhere that I missed.

Al or Jeff, if either of you are not busy tomorrow (tuesday) Ill be playing with this thing all day (Unusual as it is that I get a weekday off) trying to get her running smooth and I could use someone familiar with the 7M. Shoot me a PM or something.

You say it keeps dying on you? Does it just want to fall on its face or does it slowly want to die off? How does it boost? How fresh is your gasoline?
It could be a small number of things...but other than that, unfortunately, I've got a long workday tomorrow so I doubt I'll be able to make my way up there... Good luck! Let us know if you figure anything out...

It dies out slowly.
havent boosted yet. Ive been trying to get it to stay running before I romp on it any. (but dont worry, I WILL romp on it) :D
Gas is fresh.... well, atleast 3/4 of the tank is fresh. I drove it to where it sits before doing the HG.
hey man, Im usually working 70 hrs a week, so its just nice to have the day off for a change. Its pretty rare really.
Anything would help. lie I said, Im hitting up the vacuum lines tomorrow morning.

update:
got the dying problem fixed. shes running alot better now.

I made up an EGR blockoff plate and then I went through all the vaccuum lines I could see and cleaned it up some as well as added a couple of ground straps and played with the timing a little more. She seems alot happier now. I also got the startup oil out of there and put some fresh Castrol in. Im about to clean up the garage some and take her for the virgin drive. The downpipe has a hole in it so Im glad Ive got that one on order, should be here soon.

Idle is still a little rough at times, its missing here and there, Im hoping its something that I can drive it around the block a few times and it will get better. if not Im gonna have some playing to do.

6 Cylinders are FTW! ;)

Yeah...I got motivated today and decided to get the Supra up and running again because I was really missing it...I'm going to park the Jeep until we start getting any snow (or heavy snow for that matter) because I LOOOOOOOVE my Poopra. :D:D:D:D

Congrats on getting her going. Late-day tomorrow, If you aren't doing anything, maybe I'll stop by or we can meet up and see how she's doing!
Other than that, I'm sure I'll get around to meeting you before the winter hits us!
