How are you connecting to the internet? Networked, direct connection? Firewalled?

If you are getting online fine in everything besides Firefox, try this:
Go Tools > Options > Advanced > Network [Tab] > Settings [Under Connection].

What is selected? If it is Direct Connection, try Auto-detect Proxy settings, and vice versa. After you've selected and OK'ed and Applied and all that crap, restart Firefox and see if it works.

get fasterfox for firefox. its in the add-ons section. that usually helps speed things up. i have been having some issues recently with SF and SM in that it has been running a bit slower overall but after checking with several other people it seems to be a general thing rather than specific to my connection. hth!

Firefox 2.0 has been causing a ton of irritating problems for me, like not loading youtube and other video sites, and other random things, but my computer could probably use a good reformatting so I'll start with that before pointing fingers.

All the "special" software probably doesn't help, either.... :nono:

MkIIINA,
The reason why is because there are a good deal of sites who will terminate your connection to their server if you are taking up a disproportionate amount of bandwidth. Or so I have been told. But I ran it for a while, was beautiful with some sites, and there were others that wouldn't even load. Disable Fasterfox, they load, turn it back on, can't get em for more than a page or two, if even.

GJ, I would imagine the number of people writing malicious code for Firefox is growing exponentially ATM. FF has skyrocketed in popularity, so it follows more efforts would be spent on it as it gains market share. Of course, I think there are still many, many less viruses for FF than IE. Firefox does run faster than IE6, iono bout IE7. Ad IE7 added tabs and even gave them thumbnails. But I'm not sure about the security on IE7.

Ret, I've ran 2.0 for a long time now, no problems at all.
