Mouldings...

The mouldings (side trim) that surround the supra are coming off, and do not look that great, I was wondering if a body shop would be able to repair them so they look brand new (maacco says they can, but they are maacco.)

If that is impossible, are there aftermarket custom mouldings to be bought, or can new originals be found? I have searched and turned up nothing.

Thanks

I'd say stay grey, but that's my personal preference :)

Have seen black on black, and it looked a little odd as the rear badges were painted over aswell...

Here is my fave moulding I have seen (Vas85 from these forums):

Wow, nice write-up....I'll be removing/replacing mine here soon. And I thought you would have to remove the inside door trim to unbolt the molding as well. Doh!

Yeah I thought the same thing... You aren't the only silly one :icon_razz

The mouldings are on my list of things to get done by Oct for our huge ToyFest meet, and the write up that bloke put up has made it a helluva lot easier!

I'm dying for a set of nonturbo 89+ mouldings. I've been looking for about 3 months now with them being either ridiculously expensive JDM sets or missing a piece or 2 or broken clips/holders.

I think a small white strip and a red strip would look BAD. ASS. The moulding would have to remain mostly black, like Vas's, but with an additional red strip. Kinda like pinstriping for the mouldings.

It looks great in my head, I'll have to photoshop a mockup before actually doing that.

Well here's a quick and dirty chop of someone else's beautiful mk3:

I really like it. Looks about how I imagined it. I would maybe make the red stripe a tiny bit bolder/wider.

What do you think? Sorry for the thread jack, OP.

**Second thought. The red striping would not be any bolder than it is in the chop. I think it should be subtle.
