I'm planning on changing my 7MGE to it's turbo version. I do have some questions of this swap.
For example:
Would I need to swap my W58 to a R154?

Is there anything else i should change? Radiator?

Do a search, bro. This has been covered alot. If you have specific questions after you read up, you'll get much better response if people know you did your homework... gl.

I just did the same swap last summer. You can keep the w58 but its not as beefy as the r154. If your gonna do some type of build go with the r154. Also, I forgot the gear ratios, but I know the n/a rear end will be kinda low geared but not too bad. It accelerates a little better but highway driving isn't the most fun. The clutches work differently between the two so if buying a new clutch be specific which tranny you are using and don't forget the driveshafts are different sizes for the two.

Ah thank you a lot. I won't have sufficient funds to buy the tranny along with the motor so i wanted to make sure it was ok to run it with the 58. I will be changing to r154 when money comes through though.

Ha ha yeah money.... I hear ya man! And you dont need to switch radiators as far as i know, but I did anyway. The powersteering reservoirs are different, you will be taking out that gray one on the side and an intercooler pipe will cross where it was. Another little nit picky thing is youll need the turbo gauge cluster because the tachometer uses a different signal or something on the turbo car and the n/a one wont work... i tried it. How do you plan on doing this? Is it gonna be like a swap from car to car or are you ordering an engine?

w58 will bolt up to the gte no problem, mostly the same block anyway.

r154 is a 240mm flywheel/clutch
w58 is a 225mm flywheel/clutch,

make sure the bolt pattern is the same ont he flywheel to the crank

I did delete the a/c considering it never worked but I can't say from experience about the power steering... the car weighs over 3500 pounds and youll be most likely doing performance driving of some sort.... keep it. Anyone who has deleted it can tell you better than me though.

PS: Check the power steering pressure hose for any wear or replace it because its an ass to replace with the engine in.
