well if its dead, it certianly wont need its claws anymore.

you can do like i did w/ my 7M TB. just use the pre-89 TB since youll have an idle air speed screw to set your base idle. i needed that since my mani doesnt keep the ISC. also, if you keep the 7M TPS plug, just untape the rubber boot, slide it down the wires, and spin it. over the years, the boot has formed into that curve and when you plug it into the "wrong" side of the TB, the wires will point up. when you spin the boot on the wires, itll point them down. just retape them then. oh, you may have to lengthen the wires if you didnt already. i had to add like 6" to mine so itd reach.

btw, if youre feelin frisky, you can go get a throttle body out of a 4.6 liter Ford V8 engine.t hose are 65mm instead of the 58mm of the 7M. then you can have your TB modded like mine ;)

What about our tps on the ford TB? to be honnest im not really TO worried about the size of the TB at this point. my engines still basically stock with intake/exhaust. the reason im doing the FFIM is purely for a intercooler setup, oh and to just try clean things up a bit. Stock, everything seems to be on the turbo side of the engine.

yeah the TPS will need to be re-spliced anyhow im thinking seeing as the TB has moved quite a bit further away from stock position.

And don't the 89+ US supra's have a idle controller screw in theyre TB's? im sure our JDM ones do? i'll double check got one in the garage somewhere.

Cheers for the info there flubyux2

okay your right, 89+ don't have adjustment either. im sticking with the 1jz TB now tho.

getting the kick-down removed and shaft shortened and re-threaded or as you put it earlier.. the impossable lol.

as for idle adjustment i'll see what i can doi about that when i get the TB back.

keep you updated as i go.
