Has anyone painted their moldings themselves. I would like to paint mine and could use some tips rather than bringing them to a body shop. Maybe the prep tips and what paint to use. Thanks alot

What style moldings, 87-88 or 89+. I repainted my 89+ trim. I used urethane bumper paint striper to strip off the stock paint, I wanted the trim black, and after stripping them the plastic underneath is black, so I just touched them up with a light coat of black trim paint.

are 89+ direct replacements for pre 89

For the most part, yes, my car is an 87 with 89+ trim. Only one problem, the rear center section between the tail lights, most just swap out for newer tail lights and center section.

Sand them with like 400+ your call. Then liquid sandpaper!!!! If you dont have access to a gun what I would do is go to a paint place that puts auto paint into a can. By the primer and the clear in a can as well and paint. Should come out pretty well!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
