Does anyone know if there is a difference in the subframe and front suspension from a 1986 1/2 to a 1990? My 1990's front subframe is trashed, and I know someone that has a parts car for a good price. Its a non-turbo 5 speed. If the parts will fit for the suspension, I can get the car and swap the transmission as well. Mine is an automatic, turbo. I know the transmission can't hold as much power, but I am not going to have many mods to my car. So what parts are/aren't interchangeable?

yes it is. it will not work with your car because of the different engine mounts it comes with. The transmission will bolt up completely to you're but it used a different clutch slave cyl iirc, or some sort of different plumbing. but yeah easy as pie :D

Yes the blocks are the same, suspension components are the same.
NO their is differences in the years because their is two types of motor mounts the square type like in the older supras mk3 supras and the circular type like in the newer mk3 supras.

Yes you can use older motor mounts on a newer engine because I have a 1991 JDM motor and I used the stock 87 motor mounts for my 87 supra so if he is going to use the square motor mounts in the 86.5 subframe then yes it will work:biglaugh:.

Rajunz was saying that the suspension components are the same, which they are.

Also that the blocks are the same, which they are.

The crossmember itself is different, but if he grabbed a crossmember and mounting brackets from an 86.5-89, everything would bolt up into his 1990.
