mkiv vs mkiv tt?

What are the major differences in the TT MKIV and the N/A? Because I am looking at picking up a N/A and I was wondering if motorwork was the only difference? Suspension, lsd, brakes? All else the same?
Funny place to ask a MKIV question, supraforums or isupra would be better options and they probably already have the faq you are looking for.

N/A's with VVTi... it's toyota's version of it...

Fucking pain in the ass to tune. Trust me. Unless you go AEM, then it's a breeze.

I mean it's not like any of us around here own MKIV's, have run NDRA world champion race teams running 2JZ' in MKIV's, built the TX2K5 unlimited class motor, or have built some of the meanest MKIV's ever to hit the road...

Nope, no one like that here...

Ignorance usually is, I guess it depends on who is laughing....

If you manage to get anything out of Supraforums with no search functions, you let us know.

that and IIRC there are presently no aftermarket cams available for a VVTi setup...

admittedly supraforums USED to be a great tool... not so much now...

I found it funny because my friend and I were just talking about doing that the other day. It would be a super funny mod. I am really not a 7m friend, but it would be funny to see. Obviously i have come to this site because it fucken rocks! I am not talking about me, but when someone stumbles onto a MKIII site and asks a MKIV question, i just thought it would help him more to ask it in the MKIV section on one of those sites. He clearly wasnt using a search feature, this question would easily be answered by using google or reading faqs on MKIV sites. I have seen them before, but i am not sure which site i read it on.

I'm sorry. SF really irritates the livin' shit outta me these days. No search function is probably the WORST thing you can do to a forum. It ensures an endless number of reposts, etc... Add to that the unprofessional behavior of the staff, ban happy supermods & admins, etc and it's irritating as all hell.

Supraforums used to be a great resource for both MKIV and MKIII owners, now it's a land of false promises, a cancer in the Supra community if you will. It's sad, and could so easily be avoided.

I sometimes wonder what would happen if we created MKIV sections here...

I know, i have been on SF for like 4 or 5 years now and i only found this awesome place like a few months ago when i got my 1jz. I love it here and you guys seriously rock. It is amazing how quickly i get questions answered. I actually stopped posting on SF a few days ago, i would post a question on both sites and i would get like one response on sf and like 4 or 5 on here. I love it here!

I've been on both forums for a while, and used to post there more than here...

but the inactivity in the local section, and the redundant posts from lack of a search feature made me come over here.

Having decent discussions like the ones on this forum is what SF USED to have...

I'm thinking the OT section of SF is what overloads the server, but they don't seem to care about fixing the issue...

Hrm...

I've got my own theories on why that is. I'd suspect it has to do with advertising revenue. SF likes to use its postcount and number of members as a marketing tool.

"Come advertise with us, we've got 3 MILLION posts and 40,000 users!"

But 2.5 million of those posts are crap, 30,000 + of those users are inactive and 2/3 of the remaining 10,000 don't even own a car, let alone a Supra...

If they cleaned up like we clean up around here, the SF system would perform a lot better. But then the marketing claims wouldn't be able to be made...

Just a theory...

I think it would be cool with a MK4 section. Since recently we had a few MK4 owners join. And a few have been upgrading to the MK4.

Oh, hell nothing. It would take me about 15 minutes to set it up.

Other than it being outside the scope of what SM is (This would be a change the staff would have to agree with) and not having enough mods (there's another issue), it's pretty easy.

The whole "leave your generation prejudice at the door" rule would have to be brutally enforced for a while. Meaning you start shit, you get a vacation. There's a big gulf between these two communities, but it's a lack of leadership that has let it happen over time.

I think the old "if you build it, they will come" thing likely applies here. But the staff would have to want to do it. That's not something I'd fell comfortable doing on my own. (Although on a personal level, I'm warming up to the idea of a MKIV section.)

I own both cars, of course I'd like to see the forum support them:

well, i think the MKIV owners would love a place where they could SEARCH for information. BTW are those your old MKIV wheels on the MKIII. i thought the younger siblings got the hand-me-downs?

My son has my old White 87T and it has the factory wheels from my MKIV. (Mine has the 98 wheels which are lighter... ;) )

There are JZA80 specific forums.
