hey guys what do you think of putting the mkiv brakes(calipers and rotors) on a mkiii. would it just be a direct bolt on application? and would it be worth it or should i just go with an aftermarket kit?
thanks guys

you can use the front struts from a MKIV (eric verah did it), and it makes your
front wheels sit back like 1", or something funky like that, and the backs bolt up with some mofidications.

I come from a land down under
1st issue is the front rotors won't fit over the Mk3 Hubs you need to remove 5mm.

Next is the Centre holes in the Mk4 rotors are larger so spacers are needed, I had the front and rear suspension removed at the time so I ended up press fitting a spacer to all 4 hubs and machined it to size so it's perfectly concentric.

I used AP Racing 4 piston callipers so had to make mounts for them anyway so for me that was a non issue.

As I understand it the rears are close and NFI on the fronts as I've never had my hands on a set.

AP Racing 4 spot Callipers with Mk4TT DBA Rotors front and rear.

yeah i was thinking it would be a great upgrade and parts would be a little cheaper but if it's a complete custom then maybe not worth it

There are a bunch of BBK's out there already but I wanted something that uses off the shelf rotors as I consider them a disposable item so went with the DBA Kangaroo Paw rotors.

I believe there is a 350z Nissan rotor that's a closer match but am not 100% on this.

Nice!

However, did you read my post above that? My friend swapped out the spindles and it was pretty easy from what I saw.

Varah is a good friend of mine.

Here are some pics of Eric's front wheels with the MKIV spindles & brakes.

Here's a closeup. As you can see the wheel sits fairly far back in the wheel well as compared to the stock location:

Here's a side profile of Eric's car, in this you can see how far they are pulled inwards as well:

I can tell you from personal experience that even with 622 RWHP this thing stops fast. It almost stops as fast a MKIV TT, but no where near as fast as my MKIV Hardtop with upgraded brakes.
