Nobody from southbay will be going. For some reason they just don't like Vegas. Everyone around them goes. Just not from southbay. They have emailed me saying that the weekend is bad because there is something on TV that weekend or they are washing their hair.

Be sure to watch the caravans page on the official website as we get closer. A lot of caravans talk happens there.

off topic but where is the vid from last year? :wtf: Been waiting for that since the last meet. Actually a few of my buds as well.

A side note: The cruis last year was/had terrible roads dude. Hope you don't go there again. Michelle and I were driving as if it was an autocross course :icon_neut

Thanks

Duane

Garth and his team have been feverishly working on the video. I have been told that it has gone to replication and that we are looking at about two weeks. I have been promised the first copy as soon as they come back and then I will post up where to place your order.

Garth has gone WAY out of his way over the past 12 months. After being dropped from doing the TX DVD for 2004 Garth stepped up to the plate when their original production company could not (would not) finish the project. A deal was worked out to get the footage over to Garth for the editing and the DVD was finally finished just in time for this year's TX event. Garth and his crew did go out and shoot this year's TX event.

I have received a preview of the artwork for this year's DVD cover and am hoping to have the video in my hands very soon - mental note: call Garth and see how we are doing.

On the Scenic Drive: Last year's drive was chosen based on everything we had read about it. Quotes like "Red Rock Canyon^10" were right on. Very spectacular and VERY far. We actually didn't get to see the drive until the Tuesday just before everyone arrived. Chris Jensen and I made the drive out there in his red 89T and with the exception of the MAJOR dips in the road the drive wasn't that bad - Chris was still able to get up to the top even with the dips.

And I thought the AutoX was supposed to be fun. :)

OK guys. The Bracket class is GONE! The GRUDGE class is ON! This makes it even easier on the coordination team as we don't have to do anything at all - except tell you guys to come to the lanes with the Supra Grudge Class is called over the PA.

Grudge class is where you pick your opponent in the pits and come to the staging lanes together. There is no dial-in or handicap. The light turns green and the first one to the end wins. Of course there is no loser as you can come back to the staging lanes for the next round even if you lose.

There is no MkIII class as we do not have a MkIII class coordinator. I have made this offer for the past couple years. We will make a class for whatever you want as long as there is a class coordinator and a full class of eight cars. If we create a class and either one of these two requirements are not met in Vegas the class will be dropped. It really is simple.

The drags needed a coordinator. Jason S stepped up to take the reigns for this activity. Since he owns a MkIV he is only concerned with the MkIV classes. If we want a class for eight guys named Mo then we need a coordinator and eight guys named Mo and we'll create a class.

Technically a MkIII could qualify for any of the classes that are already published.

In 2003 I was given the keys to a nice z06 Vette at the track. WOW! You just can't get that feeling on the street - and shouldn't by the way. Sure... you may not be doing 150mph but the corners are where the real fun is (coming out of a corner and pushing hard down the straight and still getting slowed down enough for the next corner).

Of course I also got to ride around in the same Vette with Geoff behind the wheel. Short story is I SUCK! WOW! It was a joy to ride along with someone that knows their car that well.

No worries. Just because you didn't RSVP for the show and shine we will not keep you out. :)

Video is nearly complete. HorsepowerFreaks.com will have an exclusive on this video for a while. I am hoping that the videos will be done in time for people to pick them up at the Nationals in less than two weeks.

Keith, I forgot to pay you while I was in Portland for the PACNW SN. I'm going to be back in town for the Chief training, and need to get your phone # so I can get in touch with you guys at that time.
I can mail you a check for the Road Course fee. It sure would be nice to see another 60 or so people step up and register for this so we can keep the event. With the on track training, and other benefits to renting the track for the day, it will be a very good event for any Supra driver. (Or any car driver for that matter. Track time at this price is a great deal.)

Come on guys. The MkIV RSVPs are catching up. They're only down by 9 now (51 MkIIIs and 42 MkIVs). Show some support for "The Largest Supra Event on the Planet" that actually cares that you show up and doesn't just lump all "Other" Supras together.

Remember... I drive a MkIII as does half of the main coordination team. We have Supra owners on the team representing every generation of the Supra - how many other events can claim that?

i dont know if i can endure the punishment of vegas with only a 9 day break. my best friend gets married oct 1 in vegas. and imagine the rage he'll have if i miss his wedding and show up a few days later. and good friends are hard to come by. its only a 6 hour drive for me but every vegas trip requires lots of recovery time. but i'll rsvp for 06 now if that counts...

If it were only a 6 hour drive for me I'd be in a LOT of trouble. I'd be out there at least once each month.

If your friend is getting married on the 1st then you have at least 10 or 11 days to recover before the event.

hehehehe
