i'd see the top flying off in slow motion and be like NOOOOOOOOOO since thats like the only area of my car that doesnt have scratched paint.
I think he was losing the race so by instinct he ejected any extra weight he could at the time.
Mines a hard top so if i look up an its not there im in trouble...

LoL..Got me too. Years ago when she was my daily driver I was Out driving with the Targa off the night before. Lightly screwed it on cause I was planning on removing it the next morning for drive into work. Well I woke up late & rushed out into the Supra. Needles to say it was removed on my way into work but not quite as planed.
There is no other way. If you tighten up the bolts, it won't come off.
For the record, I've lost two of them. Both times it happened when I reached eight mph and both times nobody was behind me and both times they were fubar'd.

LOL i was gonna take that to the grave. I wasnt gonna mention almost losing a roof on here. ROFL! I was talking to some buddies as i screwed the top back on, but somehow i got distracted and only tightened the back. next thing i knew i was going down the street and heard the roof starting to flap around. It must have looked messed up. Kinda like a guy with a bad hair piece flapping in the wind or when people grow their hair long and come it forward to cover there receding hair line.
Well im glad i didnt lose my roof and i feel a little better that this happens from time to time lol
