MKIII Coilover/suspension opinions

Hi all... been searching the forums for opinions, not finding quite the info I'm looking for. Just bought a '92 MKIII that's sitting slammed to the ground. Not the look or feel I'm after. I'm too old & cranky to wipe my nose on my knees every time I get out of the car, and it's scraping speed bumps everywhere unless I absolutely crawl over them. And here in FL, that's EVERYWHERE.

Now, I do loves me some performance... occasional autocross or casual track day, and I run Deal's Gap every year. But I'd like that performance to come near stock ride height so I don't lose my muffler to a speed bump and can stop scraping frame.

I contacted Aaron at Driftmotion, and he suggested the Megan coilovers, or the Tein FLEX series coilovers, plus a set of ST sways. Can anyone out there who has installed & adjusted these coilovers, and driven on them for a while offer opinions about the handling characteristics and ride height? Ease of install? If you've driven them both, are the Teins worth nearly twice the price of the Megans?

For that matter, if you would suggest a different route, I am absolutely open to hear those suggestions. I don't need a pillowy-soft ride, as I spent 5 of the last 6 years in handling-modded MINI Cooper S's, which aren't known for comfort. But I don't need track style stiffness every day, either, as "performance oriented" driving is not a daily event in my world.

There is a suspension sub-forum that you should look at to give you some ideas.

The two I would recommend would either be a custom bilstein setup or if you're looking for something 'pre-packaged', the Stance coilovers seem to be a good option.

Wow, I did not even notice there was a suspension sub-forum. I gotta slow down & enjoy the view a bit more.

Thanks!

I'm reallyyyyyyyyyy happy with my HSD setup, I can't remember the exact type, but if you go on their site, they're the lime green ones with the black springs (they look similar to TEIN's)

They were affordable, offer full adjustablility, and ride really nice.

A buddy of mine has Cusco Zero 2's on his car. I drove it once, rode very well. Could hardly feel the bumps. And it was slammed pretty well.
