I know this is not the right place for this thread, and I apologize, but I'm not a member over at CS.com and I was hoping for some quick help.

TinyBubbles (Teri, ex-SM member) and I went to look at an 82 Supra this evening and it seems to be in pretty decent shape, but I have a question. The engine and transmission were in pretty good shape, and body was rough but not terrible, but what worries me is the electronics. The headlights didn't work, and the power locks didn't work. I didn't get to check anything else electronic. The fuses all looked good, so that wasn't it.

Now, it was running when we were looking at it, but the battery was not in it. We jumped it using the current owners car. I don't know if that could make a difference due to an incomplete circuit or something.

Anyway, if we move in the next day or two we have the chance to pick the car up for $400 or $500, which it would seem to me to be worth it. However I know precisely dick about electronics, so I have no idea if this is a big issue or not.

What do you guys think?

Did the headlights not come on at all or did they just not pop up? MKIIs are notorious for pop up problems, it's easily fixed. Did you check the under dash fuse panel as well. There is also an array of relays under the dash that control all power accessories in the interior that could be at fault. Just be sure to check the wheel wells and hatch area for rust. It's a problem for the older supes.

I have an 82 I use as a daily, it's a great car.
