I paid around $400 for mine with no tires, if I remember correctly. Mileage doesn't really matter, as rims don't "wear out" like many other items. No spacers needed, they bolt right on. You can get some spacers if you want them a bit more flush with the fender line.

It depends on the wheels and how good of condition they are in as well as tires. If they both look great then go for it. There is a guy selling Chrome TT wheels with almost new khumo SPT tires for $800, that I would definitely pay. Good wheels about $400 then new tires for good wheels with mounting and balancing and the tires about $600 maybe a little less. So $800 isn't that bad. If they are chrome I would pay $800 for the set as long as they were in good shape and the tires looked good, if not chrome I would do $700.

But it's all about the tires, because you can find sets of wheels for $400 or under, but then you will spend a lot on wheels.

I agree $800 is a little to much for TT MKIV wheels IMO, even if they do come with tires. I have been seeing some crazy prices for TT wheels lately though. There was a guy selling a set near me that were polished and were on his SC300 for $1000.

As for your other question. You will be fine bolt on. But a 15mm in the rear and 25mm in the front looks really nice on a lowered car.

my buddy just offered his chrome tt rims to me w/ tires for $550. i wouldnt pay $800, if was gonna pay that much i would just put some more money with and get a set of aftermarket rims. but thats just my opinion.

The biggest factor that would make the price reasonable or outrageous is what tires are on the wheels.

I got my TT wheels for $300 with no tires and then spent $1100 on GOOD tires.

I just bought a set of polished (they are not chrome, although they may appear that way) MK4 TT wheels and brand new tires for $800. They were in great shape, save for one gash on the front right rim. They bolt right on and look fine, although the fronts sit just a hair in further than the rears. The rears sit flush with the fenders. It's a great swap, go for it :)

I'd say $400 for the wheels alone is a good price provided they are in good condition.

I might as well post the pictures since they look so hot and I'm an attention whore.

I just bought a set of mk4 TT wheels with minor curb rash on one rim for $400. the paint on them is good. oh yea they have brand new Nitto 555 tires with about 50 miles on them. all balanced. the new rubber the rims have runs over $500 plus mounting. the seller was needing to get rid of them that week. i had to trade him some old saw blades with crap rubber so he could drive that car to the auction house.

my other set of mk4 TT rims had worn out rubber and about 1/4 inch of brake dust baked onto the outer rim and over a 1/4 inch of dust on the inside of the rim so i paid $50 for them. thats $12.50 a rim. altho one rear rim is not just exactly round anymore and requires a little extra weight on balancing. i stripped them with aircraft paint stripper and got the dust off. i will paint them some day.
