For a school project I had to chose something automotive related to create in solid works. Not too complex, such as a whole car, so I chose an mk4 headlight because I figured why not do something I might actually have interrest in heh.

These are just the quicker sketches which I imported into solidworks to use as guides for the 3d model. Once done, I may have it rapid prototyped so I can keep a small physical copy of my design to look at.
What do you think?

Yes you got it. Led strip down the centre of the rib just to give it some character. Not at the bottom like audi and mercs. From the side, i feel this light resembles an eye ball with the rib/led strip beign the retinal nerve. The leds would flash as the turn signal.

Just finished my project and got some decent renders. Tell me what you guys think of these now. They look a bit better than the sketches ;).

This last one I used the DoLuck mk4 as a background to see the headlight on a real image. I think it fits rather nicely.

Aren't those reflections on the outer clear/plastic housing?

Yeah I could probably put a second small light and it would look even better. Btw, those are reflection yes. Thanks for the views and opinions guys! We'll see what marks I get for it.

Hehe, you know, like any other proud designer I did think about that ;). I might fix the dimensions over the christmas break, and then I could actually rapit prototype a scale version of it, to see it in real life. I'll need actual dimension though, which I could not find on the net. Maybe buying an old mk4 light will have to do, although they are expensive. Do you like it as is? Or do you think having 2 small lights would be better?
