Group A car was not a strut to strut brace. It was only strut to firewall.

They were triangulated, correct? I thought they crossed between the towers as well...

But I still wonder about the subject at hand.

The MKIII is already a stiff chassis. If you want a stiff chassis, stitch weld and roll cage. Added on "Bracing" is doing nothing but adding weight.

Correct. The solution is a real cage, or install the roof. The missing roof is the cause of the flex. On an old Fox Body, the Fox Body was the source of the flex. Evidence is the extra 70 lbs of bracing the targa car has, yet still twists more than you all like.
