Which do you think is getting closer to the perfect "supra" image?
...And which do you prefer most between these two cars!

p.s. I think both are fantastic super cars no matter what we think, but
since I have a JZA70 supra, I'll go with the mk3 100% :sarcasm:
Both cars are inside/outside modded with best performance parts,
and have the same power and same engine/trans drivetrain!

1st candidate: mk4...with Do-Luck,TRD,Volk gtc exterior stuff
(modded to 700 whp,manual trans,targa top,fully loaded)

2nd candidate: mk3...with Bomex,Abflug,Greddy exterior stuff
(modded to 700 whp,2jz single turbo, V160 trans,sport roof,fully loaded)
p1076016_2.jpg

So....which do you prefer most and why? Which would you take into your
garage? I know...both are hot and super fast cars with the best image,
status on the roads nowdays, specially the mk4 which is known most from
the videos,magazines,movies!
For me the best/perfect supra is the mk3 chassis, exterior looks, and
interior with the mk4's engine and 6 speed transmission.-

You mean I can't have both???????????

Like you said, MKIII with 700HP from any Supra motor would be fine with me. A 7M built for reliability and HP would be best. MKIII, Less hype, less cost, less attention, less vandalism, and all the class.

I love the MKIII pictured. I have it saved somewehere on my puter. I have seen some MKIV's that I like better though.

That is a fine example of a MKIII with the exception of the hood. If I had to choose from the options above, I would go with the MKIII. It just has more 'presence' to me.

Between the two I'd choose the MKIII hands down. Sadly, if you look at the average MKIII compared to the average MKIV, the MKIV always comes out on top (mostly due to money). Half the people around here don't even know my MKIII is a Supra, or that there are Supras other than the MKIV =(

you people not liking the stout hood need to go to the corner with a dunce hat...

Anyway, stock for stock, I'd take the MKIV for a performance standpoint.
-stronger engine
-bigger tires (and you can fit huge amounts of rubber under those fenders)
-nearly indestructable tranny

Now, don't get me wrong, dollar for dollar the MKIII is a steal (at present price points). I personally like the MKIII seats better than the MKIV. That, and stock bodied MKIV's look a bit....Mr. Magoo'ish

I feel that both cars are in seperate classes. I love both cars more an anything. I will always have one (and have left women becuase of this car). I own an mk3 (ma70) but will buy a jza80 after college. Both of these cars show excatly what toyota was about when it came to a sports car (too bad they decided to stop)

Something about mk3's sideskirts and it's hood. The Bomex sides are the
best you can put on a mk3.The CF hood is one of the best in the market.
It keeps the stock lines,it has 3 cool vents,it's super light and it gives
style. My opinion anyway...:sarcasm:

The true is that mk4 supra was created as a much more sports car than
the mk3.The mk4 corners, brakes, accelarates, handles and puts down the
power a little batter than it's predeccesor. It hurts us (mk3 guys),but it is
true.

But one thing is for sure....There isn't a car in our planet that has better
front seats than the mk3!!! :icon_bigg

It all comes down to personal taste, I think.
Personally, I'd always pick the MKIII, for it was, and still is, the car that makes my heart beat faster, and also the one that I don't mind staring at, for minutes, or taking care of whenever I have the time - not forgetting driving it too ;) Sure, the MKIV is newer, faster, more reliable, and in some ways, even better... but it doesn't have the same effect on me. In the end, the better car is the one that makes you feel good about owning it, and not just because you can smoke the crap out of other wannabe-racers. That's why I'd choose the MKIII.

I hate that TRD wing with a passion. Its total ugly shit.

I guess I'd take the MkIII. I really think the MkIII chassis is better for non-competitive use...cruising etc.

Also, the MkIII has a pretty stock look, as opposed to the flashy MkIV. However, the MkIV is LHD and thats a requirement.

Overall, they're pretty similar though. Not exactly my cup either, but much more so than most anything else on the road.

As far as "Image" goes the MK4 already has that. It is the most recognizable supra to the general population period.

I would probably take the 2jz powered MK3. I prefer the lines of a A70 and the looks, design, and power of a 2JZ. Perfect match for my taste.

-MKIV has better brakes (best in it's class at the time)
-better headlights (I didn't say look better, just are functionally better)
-was made to handle high speeds (there is a reason the wing was put on...)

Don't get me wrong, I love my MKIII, but a MKIV would be a nice DD...
