Yea, that's Mike R's car. I saw that one late last year in his garage when picking up another of his MKII's to be worked on.

The guy owns 3 of them, and they all look this good.

Like Theresa said, if we weren't buying a house on Monday, I'd be over there buying that thing right now... :(

Someone had better give that thing a good home.

Would make a nice daily if I lived in the US. Or a good transplant for my current suspension setup (and brakes sitting in the shed) and a 1uzfe conversion .:runaway:

Yah I'm an evil person, but a car that looks that neat needs the balls to back it up.

Sometimes its not about HP!!!! Damn sweet car makes me miss the 85 L-Type I had in college.
Meh its only ideas and on a car like that if you did a conversion you'd do it properly hide the wiring etc. Make it look like it came like that from the factory.

MK2's are never really going to be classics imo so keeping a neat stock example is pretty pointless. You may as well enjoy driving it as well as looking at it. I'm not talking stupid power just a lightly modded 1uz that makes the right noises and gives the car the get up and go it deserves. A MK2 as neat as that with a moderate about of power say 200-230rwhp and a well sorted suspension and brake package would a very nice car to drive.

Its just an opinion and everyone has different reasons why they love cars, I just love the raw feeling of the MK2 when you are driving them near the limit.

yeah if you ask me, doing any kind of mods to it would be a damn shame. If it were mine it would get nothing but stock toyota parts from the dealership and live in a garage.

Next to it would be my 1st gen celica with a 3S swap. ;)

Contradiction much:aigo: .

not really. What I was saying is an original like that with low miles should be kept that way. 1st gen Celicas that are original are next to impossible to find and even if you did at best you are dealing with an 18RG. Not a bad motor and certainly respectable. However good luck finding one. You are most likely to find one with and 18rc which we all know is less than stellar on performance, and screams for a transplant. So drop a modern powerplant in one and you have a very nice little sleeper with good performance AND economy.

Granted if I found a nice original 1st gen if might be a different story...but like I said...good luck with that.

I've seen better. Almost got one better.

Original everything, 14 k miles... thing smells like new still.

If I wind up not picking it up in a year or so, I'll let everyone know where it's at. :icon_bigg
