So I got to see a Mk2 disintergrate before my eyes this weekend. Had about 10 people rape this car all to pieces, myself included.


This is what we had to start with...

Roof is gone, the front half of the car is gone (will be going on my car soon, hehe)

Yeah, so apparently my ass was a major attraction yesterday, LOL

It had a BHG and rod knock, engine is junk. It was also hit in the passengers side rear, hard enough to tweak the back end pretty good. It was deemed not worthy of repair.

The front end parts are going to my car to keep her alive, as my strut rod bracket broke off the lower rad support a few days ago, and the car is pretty unsafe to drive now.

Instead of just junkyarding a car, we parted the car ourselves and the owner sold the parts. Other parts that weren't sold yesterday, will be sold over at celicasupra.com once they're inventoried.

I made out with:
the two front fenders
front bumper
header panel
nearly complete wiring harness
core support (basically front clip from the shock towers forward)
4 beautiful wheels with tires (great tread left, look newish)
4.10 limited slip

all for $100.

I understood all that. I was looking for the reason why you all went through the hassle of hacking the frame/body up instead of just taking it away after ravaging it.

well a lot of the car had to get chopped up anyway for pieces people wanted (like my front clip, and the rockers for other peeps)

I guess just hacking up the rest of the car and hauling it off in the trailer made sense, I dunno. Not sure if the car is going to a metal yard for maybe a few bucks or what...

Because it costs money to give it to a junkyard. If you just send it off with a garbage truck like my friend did with his 88, its easier lol
