its entirely possible they used more modern materials on teh chassis such as aluminum. also, newer cars are less and less steel, hell less and less metal. my moms old 80something volvo was solid steel, it could survive armagedon. my girlfriends hyundai couldnt survive a light hail storm. but it wieghs 1/3 what the volvo did.

I would think it wouldn't be an issue since they claimed to be designing a sub 5L v8 or v10 with over 500hp to put in the LF-A.

Edit:

Oh yeah, I also forgot about this, 420hp out of 4.2L, it should be no problem for Toyota.
