I want to hear what some of the items people have found in or on their motor during a tear down.

I will start.

I just tore down a 7m to do a full turbo upgrade. I found a 10mm wrench under the 3000 pipe. A 8mm socket between the exhaust manifold and the block. A pencile near the motor mount. 2 nickels and a penny under the coils, and skeleton of a dead mouse under a heat cover.

I have also found lots of misc nuts and bolts in the past, a razor blade or two, pack of matches, bread bag twisties that someone used to hold their throttle linkage on with.

Ive found sockets, keys, wrenches, screw drivers, small flash lights, business cards, bank receipts, coins, lighters, mice skeletons, and the most interesting of all....

Had an old NA engine I tore down around 2000/2001.

When I pulled the pan, it was full of flying cockroaches, all dead thankfully.

Cockroaches - that is priceless, I though they could live through anything?

Another vote for the dead skeleton crew. There was an entire family of squirrels or rats living (well, dying, actually) in my spark plug valley. Only the skeletons were left, completely saturated in oil.

My brother bought a Mustang once that he seen on the side of the road and just wanted it for some misc BS stuff he said it had a bit of an 'odor' to it, nothing major.

Gets it home, pops the hatch... whole litter of dead kittens literally stuck to the hatch carpet. He had to pull the 'gunk' off w/ pliers. He got the car running and sold it for $600 after he stripped the interior and bleached EVERYTHING, plus he got the parts he needed.
