You didn't rub one out to your motor did you? :squirt-mo

JK good work, I'm sure you have a completely logical explanation for the Vaseline...:sarcasm:

I am not scrubing everything again lol. Vasaline is for injectors btw.

Great build and documentation so far. I'm headed down this road in the spring and its great to see what exactly I'll be getting into. Have you decided on what fuel management strategy you're going with? GTE electronics and a piggyback?

i broke down my NA-T into different points of concern. Im keeping the high compression so preventing detonation is my main concern.

THE PLAN..
Fuel-walbro,fuel filter, flow tested and clean injectors
Electronics-GTE recondition wiring harness. check for cracks broken wires coax for knock sensors. rebuilt cps, new plugs and wires, extra grounds
Cooling-ebay silicone rad hoses and will be buying on of the cheaper rads here, gte fan
Seals-ebay gasket kit with toyota for the important ones, stock HG
Head-shim valves, bbc springs, arp studs
Oiling system-canton 90 filter adapter, wix 51155 filter, shimmed and lo pump and maybe pan kickouts. dm na-t oil lines Intercooler-will be stock for now, once i start turning boost up ill get a larger one or methanol injection
Exhaust-ebay 3in dp stock catback
Turbo-stock ct26 with ported wastegate dm cone filter

So im really disapointed with the duplicolor high temp engine enamel. It flakes right off and I even tried curing it with the infared lamp. It peels off just by placing a piece of scotch tape on it and pulling it off. They refunded me and I bought some por15 like I should have the first time.:nono:

Looks good, I seriously was worried about detonation from all the reading I do.. And sadly I have found out that 9.1:1 isn't that high really.. I wouldn't worry about it.. I was thinking about ordering a Alcohol injection kit before I even drove or tuned the car but just went what my brother said (being a professional tuner) the most important thing is the tuner.. If it is done safe then there will be no problems.. I am tuned now on 11 lbs and running 11.3-11.5 AFR's under full boost and have not heard any signs of detonation nor the computer has pulled timing due to it.. My ECU still gets signal so if the motor is knocking it will pull ignition timing to keep it from knocking.. When I was having problems with my Apexi Neo before it got re flashed and my AFR's were all over the graph you could hear detonation under full boost.. It seriously sounded like somebody crumbling up tin foil and dropping 100 marbles on a concrete floor and letting them bounce.. And you could hear it, even over straight pipe exhaust with the windows down or up! It was ridiculous, luckily having a wide band and logging the AFR's on a laptop we were able to watch and the minute it started to go lean we stopped the run.. Im glad nothing happened to my motor due to it! After getting the neo back with absolutely no correction in running stock tune I was in the Low to mid 10's under full boost! The motor sounded so clean compared to before! If you have detonation you will know it.. Turbo Tony is running 10.1:1 compression ratio on the 7M making 1154 HP with spray and shit tons of boost! Especially on the forums reading peoples posts, 85% of them have never experienced it in their own situation and don't know what they are talking about and just assume things.. Its really bad on particular forums.. (cough supraforums) but here we have the most knowledgeable people on the board! Just remember, a good tune goes a LONGGGGG way! :) Can't wait to compare :)

You have a big front mount too huh? Bet that's helping allot. Just today we were dynoing a car that had its timing off. It had the slightest knock and out of 20 people only me (standing the furthest away) and the instructor heard it. It takes a trained ear to make sense of all the noise under the hood. At what boost level did you have to start pulling or adding fuel?

Im working on a custom throttle linkage. Here is a mock up.

I had to pull fuel across the whole map.. I was super rich.. I started at 2000 rpms all the way to redline.. I should be going back soon to tune with 3 inch straight pipe.. And boost cranked to 12lbs.. possibly meth injection that way I can crank the base timing up..

Update!! I have been dragging my butt lately but the last thing for me to do is order bearings. I took my rods and crank to the machine shop they reccomended I get the rods resized so that's gonnaa set me back about $100. I don't know how they would determine what to size it though? Good news is that the crank needs no work!

The block and all brackets have had 2 coats of POR15 and look great. I ordered the standard size Clevites and the shop said all they need to do is polish the crank all to the same size. The oil pump drive shaft bearings were pushed out, only took 2-3 hard hits to get them out. Oil clearance is right on the money with the Durabond brand bearings. The only problem is that the OD is .003in(smaller one) and .005in larger than the old bearing. i dont know how this will affect anything once there pressed in though.Oil feed is also smaller so i might enlarge it.

Got them in! Its nice having every tool. Just when I think we dont have it, my dad pulls it right from it designated spot. Never used a cam bearing tool before but I had both in within 30 minutes. Clearences are good and the extra was just for bearing crush.

After much thought i have decided to go with .0013-.0015in for my rod oil clearence and .00150-.00175in for mains. 2jz for comparison is .001-.0016in for rods and mains. I will be using 5 or 0w-30 GC or similar oil with a full flow cooler and will drive it very spirited.:evil2:

Almost done. I have to call ARP on monday to get their lube to torque the head. Mains are at .002in, rods at .0018in and thrust at .002in. top ring at .017, 2nd .021 and oil at .016-.017. Only used WD40 to lube pistons.

Looks really good! Isn't it pretty much a 7mgte though considering you are using GTE pistons? Only real difference is the piston oil squirters and the turbo feed/drain lines now.

Engines in took 2 1/2 hours by supporting subrame with jack stands and a lifting car. Then just drop engine onto frame with a cherry picker. Highly reccomend doing it this way.

I returned the 30w and got the 5w-30 instead. Should get it running this week.
