this is going to be my dd but while the engine is pulled instead of doing just a complete stock rebuild (it will for the most part) i think i might as well do .20 over for the pistons

my power goal is 300hp to the wheels (which i know can be had without doing .20 over) but i want to leave room for improvement down the road which i think the highest i'll go is 350hp to the wheels (with supporting mods of course)

so what im getting at is what pistions / rings / berings would you guys recommend?

anything i should be aware of when doing so?

think it will be worth it?

boring over it should be done if ur walls are f---ed. Also remember its .020 over not .20, that'd be too much ;)

oh and any well known piston should take care of ur power goals, you could even do a stock build....or possibly probes even tho im still iffy on those.

only because not a lot of people have experience with them, they havent been put to a real test, even though i wouldnt mind using them on a mild build like yours. They seem to be pretty good quality but i'm no expert.

oh ok well im still undecided of i want to redo the bottom end since i don't burn any oil somehow (what i put in comes out when i change the oil since i pour the old oil in the new oil's container) but it can't hurt and will better for long term

i want to do a compression test although i don't know how good that will come out since my hg is leaking, no milkshake yet just burning antifreeze and smoke on a hot start up

i'll decide sometime soon, either way that head is coming off and a bunch of other stuff

mine was bored .020 over to get rid of some rust pitting, and my machinist got me clevite 77 bearings (crank was ground .010 under too), topline pistons and i think topline rings. might have been npr rings though. it's NA though, i'd probably try the probe pistons if i had gone gte.

stock pistons will work just fine for your power goals. Im on the stock bottom end with my set up and right now its dd with no issues or failures
