Project OVERKILL!!!

I'm ready to get out of the game. After 4 mechanics destroying my project, I'm at the point of either finding someone local who knows these cars to work on mine, or getting out completely.

I have a 2 bay garage with plenty of tools and 10's of thousands of dollars in parts. I even have a fully built 7M that should be capable of holding upwards of 1000hp. Problem is, I lose the garage in about a month, and I just can't finish this project on my own.

The car does not have a drivetrain installed right now and I do not wish to have it towed anywhere. I'd prefer someone to work on it with me in my own garage, but that has been difficult to find.

The truly sad part is with the economy the way it is, I feel I will take a huge huge huge loss on everything. I mean, who will pay $5000+ for a fully built 7M? And that's without a turbo and injectors. Probably nobody considering a 2JZ can be had for half that. And I have over $10,000 of parts and machining work in the engine alone.

I've been aquiring parts for almost 7 years now. I have so much stuff just laying around. I'd just hate to just lose it all without ever have even gotten a chance to drive the vehicle.

Any help someone can give me is greatly appreciated.

There has to be someone local who can help you out. Is there a local group you could join? I know the locals here have helped me out plenty. GL!

I've been pushing this project along forever. I just leave my stuff with idiots and now I have to clean up their mess. The sad thing is, I'm on my fourth engine now, out maybe $5000 in labor and other little things (like gasket kits and what not) and my vehicle is in much worse shape then it ever was when I got it 7 years ago.

The vehicle itself is my main worry. It's been left outside for several years by several idiots who lied to my saying they were actually working on it (sued one of the guys and actually won, but I've had no luck collecting in the last 2 years :3d_frown:)

The body was primered by the last idiot, but it's the worst primer job I've ever seen. I never even told him to do it. He primered over the needed body work that he never did along with the tires, weather stripping, etc. What an ass! He did I really crappy job soundening the undercarriage and engine bay. I did the best I could to tighty it up.
He scratched up my new suspension while installing it and now I have surface rust on shocks with 0 miles of use. It freakin pisses me off.

The good news is the body has only 74k on it. Too bad it was neglected for so long. I've managed to clean up the car a good bit. The engine bay has been completely prepped and is ready to have the engine dropped in. There are some issues a friend made me aware of the other night. The ABS controller in the engine bay was removed years ago and the lines have been left open since. I was told there's a good chance that there is moisture in the lines and they may be no good. I'm not sure how much truth there is to this, but he may be right. Also, the hose that comes out from the firewall that connects to the heater core has been crimped shut. I was told I'd have to pull the dash to replace it since it would be near impossible to round the hose off again to the point where it wouldn't leak.

The engine is sound. It only has 3k mi on it and I have recently went over it to make sure everything was fine. It's been sitting for quite some time, but there is no rust in it. I recently pulled the oil pan and valve covers and sloshed some oil around just to make sure it stays that way. The engine has been bolted to a engine stand and is waiting installation.

As of now, the only thing installed in the car (other than a horrific ox blood interior) is the suspension.

It appears you have the makings of one very nice Supra!!!!!!! Or, the fuel for a lucrative part out, with the convenience of not having to pull anything. I personally would love to see it get completed. Certainly if I can build my car by myself from a parted out shell with my limited knowledge, you can do it too. Help or not, dedicate yourself to making this happen. You CAN do it if you put your mind to it. All the help you need is right here on this site. I'm living proof. Before my Supra, I had changed some oil and spark plugs, and a failed attempt at swapping the carburetor on my old 67 mustang.

No, my name isn't Cory. Lol.

He did give me a hand helicoiling the exhaust side of my head tho. The last time I saw him he was running the piss outta that purple supra of his. It's got a blown head and a leaky intercooler. Pretty sure he's just running that thing into the ground.

Much appreciation goes out to all the helpful (and hopeful) responses. As of this point, completing the vehicle may not be an option since time is of the essense. What I need is for some people to come down and assess the situation. See how far along the project is and what needs to be done to at least get the vehicle running. For all I know, it's just not worth it anymore. I have no desire to dump any more money into this vehicle (and it still will need plenty) until I'm presented with a definitive plan of attack with a running vehicle as the outcome.

Anyone offering their assitance, please PM me your contact info. I'd like to get started as soon as possible.

Thank you all.
