Ok. Well, I've only emailed the guy so far. The number checks out. I haven't gotten, I'm in Europe because my son has a kidney disease or whatever. I'm fully aware. And I guess I'll post some more pics and see whats goin on with this. I am going to test drive the car if he takes on the deal. If I dont like whats going on with it, I will walk away.

And the rims are aftermarket. They have the extra lug holes and have the model and make on one of the spokes. And I know, I dont like the white steering wheel either. That will change if I get it.

Well, whats the difference between a GTS and a GTR? I'm not looking for a twin turbo 6 speed AWD crazy fast car. I just want a nice car that everyone will go, "Well, I doubt ill ever see another one of those again." A single turbo RWD car will suit me fine. And if it's still a Skyline, it's fine by me. And thank you for letting me know that the price is too steep. I probably would never have known that.

Does not sound ligit until you see the car in person. Those photos look like they where taken in 2001.

I belive those are Nismo wheels.

Differences between the GT-R and the GTS are the engine, drivetrain, and electronic control for traction and all that. The RB25 has pretty much the same power potential as the RB26DETT, but will take more to get there. Still, they make plenty of power. Think of the car as more like a 2nd gen M3

I guess I failed to mention that I was keeping the car stock if I get it. I'll probably even replace the parts on the car for the stock ones. I have my toy. I love the Supra far more than I could love any other car.

Coolio. I'm jealous. I almost got scammed too. Everything was going well, but little things that should have gave it away slipped past me. Like the fact that he was in england. Or the fact that the price was too good to be true. (said car is a 93 FD) And we proceeded till he said, "Send me western union..." I was like HAHAHA!!! I found the car through cars.com. And guess what?! I found the SAME exact car on ebay weeks later! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4636584115&sspagename=STRK%253AMEWA%253AIT
Poor fellow never got his car.

My younger brother bought a R34 GTR skyline. It came with a roll cage and a beefed up motor....He is trying to get it road legal...but he cant because of the roll cage.

Cheers,
Roy

In CA most cases. Depends on how its installed. For example I dont think we can run into the dashbar but we can goto the floor pan with the bar. I know you can have back half roll cages.

No clue why they ban this stuff when your just making the car safer...

Well, I think I read or heard somthing about roll cages can actually be more dangerous, cause most are designed to be used with a helmet I assume. Even with padding, I'm sure your coconut wouldnt withstound such a blow. I don't know.

More importantly where does he live? Skylines are extreamly difficult to register in California if not impossible. In southern Cal where there a a bunch of Skylines running around the CHP are having the cars impounded and crushed. Other states its not as hard, and in some states its pretty easy. But the cars will never be legal at the federal level.

As for the roll cage, I had never heard that it was illigal? So long at you don't have a halo bar and the rest of the cage forward of the driver/passenger they are safe on the street. But if you have any cage forward of the front seats a cage can be deadly in a wreck.

i would probably show up to court and kill everybody if they tried to get my skyline crushed. that's crazyness. for what purpose would crushing the car serve? if the person can afford the car, why not leave them be? they know damn well everybody and their mother isn't going to end up with one like mustangs and civics.

Its crazy out here. There is at least one law restricting anything that has to do with cars it seems like. The cops that are trained to spot this stuff, or at least have a general knowlege about "imports" and their modification are serious Nazis. If you live in SoCal, between the police pressure and theives jacking your stuff, driving a modified car is not easy. Its the same in some parts of Nor Cal too, but not all.
Fortunatly for me, I live in a city where anyone driving an 80's American sedan with huge chrome wheels will get 98% of all the heat from cops. I have been pulled over numerous times for expried registration and a tail light out and never once been hassled about my heavly modified car. Hopefully my luck doesn't run out before I get my daily driver on the road!

^ werd. I know what your talkin about Boso! I know a LOt of the Cops here in San Ramon. Made friends at an early age so when I turned 16.. Ya. Ya know..

A few of the cops have an intrest in my car. I get lots of waves from them. Some thumbs ups. I mean its semi loud(worn muffler) but I have no problems with SR cops. Dublin Danville and Walnut Creek... Thats ANOTHER story! Livermore..... Grrrr.
