How smooth does the mounting surfaces have to be for a MHG. Are we talking smooth to the touch, shiny smooth or mirror finish/glass?

I asked this question a lil while ago and got the same answer from multiple members here, safe to say you need to get both head and block machined.
If you can feel machine marks with a finger nail its not smooth enough I confirmed this with an RA meter
don't forget to deck the block you need the pistons out.... which you may put new rings and bearings in if your going that far... this is where i'm at currently

If the engine has new bearings and rings (under 5K miles) and it's stripped for block decking then the bearings and rings can be reused ( if replaced as they came out) ?
