i plan to run a water/meth injection setup on my 7m. i have the lower intake manifold modified for 6 additional fuel injectors. i need to find 6 bosch style low impedance injectors that are ~130-150cc/min for it to work the way i intend. im gonna run the injectors off the same drivers as the fuel injectors which are 780cc/min. that way itll be a 1:6 ratio of the water/,eth mix to the fuel. i will have a separate adj regulator for the rail on the water/meth injection so i can increase or decrease the flow to change the mixture for best results. and since it is direct port every cyl will always get the same amount. ill be using the blue windshiled washer fluid as a friend of mine works at an autoparts store as a manager so i can get it cheap, and if im out of town its only like $1.50 a gallon anyway. check my car domain page for my 84 for pics of the lower manifold.

That setup sounds pretty good, although a little complex, it will probably be quite safe. How long until you think you'll have it setup that way? I am about 6 months out from making the decision and would really like to be able to run on pump gas. However, I've been told that methanol is a weak acid and can corrode aluminum, anyone heard this or know how significant it is? I'm guessing this isnt a big issue because of the low concentration?

I come from a land down under
Ran a Meth injector on my old TT V8 240z way back and it's an effective bandaid.

I had a 20 Litre partition in the Main fuel tank feeding a 4 litre front mounted tank set up with a float for auto refilling.

Meth is VERY corrosive so steps need to be taken to guard against this.

A point to remember is if you tune to the Meth and it runs dry your motor is history if you don't have some way to limit boost when the tank's empty.

i will make a tank to fit under the floor next to the spare tire in the rear. plan to make it hold at least 3 gallons. fuel tank hholds 16 gallons. at the ratio i want to runi should need 1 gallon of the water/meth mix per 6 gallons of water and already plan to fill both at the same time all the time. thats my way to prevent running out and damaging something, and dont usually let the fuel tank get under 1/4tank. i will however have a switch to turn the pump off under cruising to conserve when it isnt needed. i plan to have the low boost set for reg 93 octane and the high boost for 93 octane and the meth/water injection. also, i dont know how much longer itll be before its in. i still need to finish rebuilding the 7mgte and also my t56 swap etc.. all this stuff is going in at once with my megasquirt standalone

indeed.

the new aem kit i sell has this. it has a sensor that if the bottle goes below a certain point or there is a problem with the pump it will trigger an output. the output can either reduce timing or reduce boost when triggered.

You crack me up IJ. There are alot of benefits to using it, but you HAVE to be smart about what you are doing. The biggest gain comes from being able to run advanced timing, plus with the cooler intake charge you can run higher boost, it's like adding a nice big IC.

HOWEVER, if you run it out of fluid, or you don't keep the nozzles cleaned and they clog, you run a risk of melting pistons.

ran meth/ water mix for a about a year but i did not run excessive boost with it i used it on really hot days to keep timing advance. For those intrested snow performance now has a kit that will lower boost or warn you if the water flow stops. Another trick i used was to put in a pressure valve and mount the injection nozzle further from the throttle plate. This gave the water a chace to evaperate compleatly before making it into the cyls.
