^ heh, i'm the opposite. all about the sleeper style. ;) a light deft of black paint on the intercooler will do nicely for me. :)

Same here. It really hides my intercooler well. You have to look close, but the pipes that come out on either side give it away even though they are black as well.
My car is not at all sleeper, but a hidden intercooler is a good thing

Dunno. It will some, but how bad the effects would be are hard to say. Someone would need to test it to see. Anodizing is a really thin coat, and I see heat sinks on electronic gear anodized all the time. Can't be that bad.

But like Shaef said, just a mist of flat black on the visible front side only will help hide the IC, but not kill its heat transfer. Lay it down on the ground and hold the spray can farther away than normal to get a light, even coat.

an interesting experiment to undertake. i've had this idea for a while (where i live, people like to shove their foot in your fmic at random, and i like the sleeper look), and i'll proabaly test it out one day. i'd also have a ic spayer on there as well, so it might not be that bad.

btw, i think your avatar and title are hilarious!

it depends on how much you like your intercooler and if you want to buy another given that one time something projects through it. at least the mesh will give some fighting chance. check out pegasus they are a road course acessory catalog

Thanks for the info!

No mesh it is. Here it is mounted. Still need to put the markers back in and the under-covers.

I'll be putting mesh on mine when I get a big fmic, there's no way I'm letting some dumb little rock put a hole in my expensive IC. I think as long as it's painted to match and doesn't look like shit, it protects the investment.
