Mechanical, Electronic Guages?

I'm looking at some gauges and all I want is boost and EGT. I don't want peak,hold, and warning functions just the gauge series in the link below. Now the problem is I can get a mechanical boost gauge but do I have to get the control link just to have the EGT work? Or can I just hook it up with the P,H, W functions? Also do they sell non PHW gauges in this series? Its the Apexi ELII series I'm interested in getting.
