So the last night me and one of my buddies from work happened to have both our good cars out. My Supra in my sig and his Civic hatch, almost fully built.
Win, lose or draw, I always been wanting to see how well the Supra would hold up against other cars that are more modified in a race.
First race was from a 40 mph roll down a mile long stretch of road. I started honking to start the race, but he jumped ahead a little before I could get the third honk in. With OD off, I floored the pedal. By 110 mph, I had 3-4 cars on him. 120 comes by and my lead drops to about 2 cars at which time the Supra stops accelerating for some reason or other and he flys by me at like 130-135.
Second race, was the original race he suggested to me. Going into a hard right turn, I would be in front and just accelerate away as fast as possible and he would try to catch up. Once again, by the time I hit 120, I had approximately 2 cars on him and he gave up. Thankfully he gave up because during the second race, the road wasn't as smooth as that which the first race was on. The Supra was bouncing all over the damn road! (Time for new shocks and springs!)
If I hadn't hit that 120 mph wall (read here about it: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=352388), I would've been able to win the first race too.
Overall, I'm impressed at how well my stock Supra did, save the Apexi PI filter. With how he describes beating other cars in races, I was surprised to have a 3-4 car lead at 110. I was expecting to get my ass handed to me right off the bat!
