Well a couple guys from out of town decided to drop into the 'Ville tonight to see what kind of import goodies were around. My buddy with an SR20 240 that runs 12.4 had just raced him and was an even match all through the gears. So he gives me a call and tells me that there is this 94 Civic Hatchback with a Turbo off of a DIESEL TRUCK.:cry: Turns out he's only putting down 210 to the wheels, but the car only weighed in around 1900lbs...so with my slipping tranny, we decided to go from a dig @ 65mph.
Yes, a weird number, but that's just what we chose. 3 Honks from behind and he gets a jump on me because he was already at the top of his gear while my tranny had to build up rpms. 105mph came up so quickly as my car shifted into 4th and i was pulling on him...my front bumper was at the his windshield and i'm pulling on him hard as hell at 14psi and at about 110 he backs off and i fly by...I never did actually pass him DURING the race...so technically he won...but if it weren't on a short notice, I would've yanked the damned system out of the car. All in all, I was VERY impressed. The turbo on this thing was ridiculous as I'm used to seeing T3/T4 turbos on Hondas...but a diesel turbo?:eek2: :nuts: It actually turned out to be a very nice setup as he had to do all custom mani's and such. NOT a kill, but I wanted a rematch but he claimed to have fuel cut at 7psi...very quick car though. And also, first time I've been beatin' by a Honda. Not a bad thing in my books, I'm actually very GLAD to see that someone is taking a Honda just another step further.
