well i am doing a manual transmission conversion, on my 87 supra. I have the transmission and drive shaft, but need a parts list of the other stuff i am going to need. I am also curiose as to how much it is going to cost to have it installed. If any one knows advice would be greatly appreciated.

i vote install it yourself :p if you have bellhousing head over to driftmotion and buy a clutch master cylinder slave master cylinder and one of those single piece braided ss lines for the hydraulic system. you will use the same throttle cable from your auto gas pedal but you will need manual gas and brake pedals... which with all of the part outs... out there... easy to source :)

you can keep your automatic ECU as well there is a way to wire it to make the ecu think its in neutral all the time (i'll look it up i na minute). i would also suggest a new clutch , rear main seal while the trans is out :):)

found it, i saved it to notepad when i ran across it from a previous post....

to bypass the neutral safety switch on the AUTO harness (I see he's switched to a manual one now, and i don't know what to say about how to fix that) there is 4 plugs that go the the tranny, one is a round plug with 3 wires, white, black, and blue, just splice the white abnd black together (using the tranny side of the harness is best so you don't have to cut up the engine harness). to make reverse lights work, use the blue wire from that plug and there is a 6 wire round plug, all you need is the black one from there; use the blue and black to connect to the 2 wire plug coming off the manual transmission.

i asked a transmission shop once and they said "at least two thousand just to mount it in"

all you need is the tsrm or even a haynes manual so you install it properly, once the transmission is in its butter after that

im sure someone would charge around 800 though... toyota charges 800 just to replace the rear main seal =/
