manual rack ???

i'm working on doing a manual rack for my 90. has anyone done this on a mk3? I have an ide of what parts I need, but i'm always open to suggestions.

You can just loop the lines.

Steering not going to be any better with such a heavy front end.

Im looking into this also so far i know if you disassemble the rack remove some seals and put some grease in your not fighting the fluid in the rack

i just picked up a wildwood manual rack. going to fab up brackets then get the attachments for tie rods and steering shaft.

yes. I haven't mocked it up yet, but I do know that it sits offset towards the drivers side. not a big deal. just have to have a longer outer tie rod on the pass side.
i'll def take pics as I go.

please keep this thread updated i cannot for the life of me get my power steering working and am super interested in a manual rack

itd really be cheaper just to fix your existing power steering if thats your only issue... the fab work needed to install a universal rack isnt for the feint at heart... it is cool but i couldnt imagine turning one of these beasts without ps

agreed. I have a great fabricator, plus i'm not going the usualroute with this car. :)

I have a new pump and a reman rack that i'm selling. what else do you need?

here's where i'm at so far..... the bay is almost ready for primer, and the subframe is just about ready for paint.

looks good man i wish i had a car that torn down to paint it like that itd be so clean ;)

i'm going with chassis black for the control arms and subframe.
i'm leaning towards arctic white from a corvette, but I might do lexus lfa white.

if you wanna go really white tell whoever is mixing it to just use white toners ;) i did it for some race cars when i used to mix paint

Have you checked the screen in your reservoir to see if it's clogged? That often happens, blocking fluid flow.

did you flush all of the lines.... i mean these systems are simple not much can go wrong with them...
