i'd just do vpc/safc2 combo. works great for wat is is.
fuck mapecu/2....

ms2 is great but its a bit more involved than anything previously said.

I think it all depends on ur power goals and how much time you wanna put in to tune it heh.

does it log AFRs?
i think i need one that logs for tuning.

right?

The Innovate I linked to is capable of logging. Comes with software and cables to connect to your laptop.

I think I read that Zeitronix can log as well but cant be sure of that ATM.

I've been looking at the LC-1

question-
so once i have my car tuned, is it still necessary to have an A/F gauge right in front of me? Does changes in temperature outside make it necessary to monitor A/Fs when driving after tuned?

I just asking because i'm trying to minimize with the amount of gauges of my cluster. tryin to stay more factory looking, na' mean?

ok so i purchased:
- Innovate Wideband
- SAFC 2
- Blitz Dual SBC Spec-S
- Lexus AFM

I purchased 550cc injectors, but there seems to be a mishap and i'll be sending them back.
I have a deal for evo 560cc injectors.
How would the 560s work with the Lex AFM Combo?
Can i just adjust the fuel pressure to even it out?

mitsu injectors? are those the correct impedence? you want honest, kick ass answers, call jack at suprasport. and theres nothing wrong with the fcd as long as your not a dumbass and crank the boost so high you lean out while your showin off for yer buddies and your afr is screemin at ya! :) but ive got 3 supra's so that was the least expencive thing for me to do, lol 3 supra's= NO MONEY!!!

I came across something tonight while reading about open/closed loop for throttle, and if your tuning with a safc the TCCS will do a closedloop mode up to 68% throttle, so trying to tune anything below that is pointless. I would just set lo throttle at 68% and high @ 69%.

I'll just add a data point here.....

I'm running the Boss Jr. 57 Trim turbo with a Lexus AFM, MKIV FP, AFPR and 550 cc/min injectors (with lots of other mods that don't really impact this discussion). I had previously been running a VPC/S-AFR setup on a SP63 turbo.

On the new setup, I originally had the S-AFR installed as well. With everything set at 0 on the S-AFR, I dialed in the fuel pressure to achieve a Vf of 2.5V. That's it. I did not adjust the original screw in the Lexus AFM.

I've been driving the car for a few weeks now, and during all closed loop conditions, I'm at a Vf of 2.5. In open loop, AFRs stay very close to 11.5 throughout the powerband. I bypassed the S-AFR, one less thing to go wrong. I may have gotten lucky, but it worked out very well and the car idles and drives like it rolled off the showroom.

That said, I also have an HKS injection pulse monitor and I am approaching ~85% duty cycle at just over 1 bar. I'll hit fuel cut just above that, obviously for good reason.

I believe the way you approached it is the way Reg Reimer originally intended it to be done. But if you'd like to move fuel cut up just a little, you can adjust the afm screw to allow maximum bypass, and then raise the fuel pressure back to where you'll have VF of 2.5... The only downside is that you'll be just a little farther away from the stock map's intented timing load point...
