I hate it... Been here for 2 hours now for school. I haven't seen/heard/w/e else ANYTHING. I came in, talked to the lady techs here for a few, and then basically was told 'find something to do and do it, because you wont be able to help w/ any exams.'

I mean, I like 80 year old tits as much as the next guy, but seriously. Why would my instructors send me over here when the girls in my class said that they only got to see like 2-3 mammo's during the 2 weeks they were over there. (I can hear the printer print when a pt is ready for their exam, and I swear the thing has already gone off 20 times)

Oh quit whinning. The girls in your class would probably rather be in your shoes. Look at it as you are getting a break. Next week you'll be somewhere that they will use you for lifting help...........the joy of be an xray student...:icon_bigg

And harrassment lawsuit? I havent even SEEN a pt, in, out, or on their way to any of the rooms. I did, however, see an old guy out in the hall on the way back from lunch. Maybe he will be the one?

I would MUCH rather be being used as lifting help or doing a billion chest Xrays my last month of school as opposed to being in here doing nothing constructive (besides making this thread) trying to get my confidence/experience where they should be before the boards. That is my only true complaint, besides the... 8 hour days x 6... 48 hours of my life that I will never get back.

And to top it all off, my fav sister in law just got online and msged me... the only thing that could make this day any better is if Advance calls to tell me I dont have to come in.

Oh, and I was joking about the 80yo comment... posting vids... you should be ashamed of yourself! lol

They didnt even bother letting me go over to Mammo when i was a student. I didn't mind either...lol.

Ive been a tech now for 3 years in Interventional radiology. You get to check that out yet?

^ Yeah, I've rocked cath lab and special procedures. I'm currently trying to get a job at a hospital in Indianapolis in their cath lab, but they're crying because I don't have 'real experience'. Oh well. Right now I'll be happy w/ a job in the field I don't even care what/where it is.

How's the job market where you're at?

Theres a huge market out here for CT techs. Most the cath labs in the area dont even use RTs in their lab (a big no-no if you ask me....but i digress). Ive been trying to find another Special proceedures job in the area now that i have 3 years experience, but now no one is looking. As far as diagnostic techs are concerned, theres always a renewing market for those as most techs end up specializing and leave diagnostic behind (which was the best move i ever made...lol).

I think i might be relocating to NY in the near future, so im gonna have to check and see for any jobs in that area.

all the school sin Indy really f*cked my classmates and I up. There has been a nice 'shortage' (you could find a job pretty damn easily anyway) but 2 years ago all of the school up north doubled or trippled their enrollment, and they all graduate a month before we do. So not only will there be... 100+ students graduating, but they all have rotations through the hospitals that usually hired the students from here. It just sucks balls that they would screw over other schools and their own students just to make more $. I've applied to... probably 20 or better positions, no call backs, nothing. same for all the girls in my class, and I've got a freaking degree to go along w/ it! UGH. I suffered through 2 years of this crapp that I didn't even want to do anymore and now that I'm graduating into a career where I will 'never have a problem finding a job' in a month and still no call backs. Then to really piss me off, I've spent 6 days a week the past two years working transport at the hospital and the fuckers hired in a tech from outside a month before graduation! WTF?! That's the reason I got in, THEY DIDN'T EVEN POST THE JOB SO I COULD APPLY. All this bullshit about being overstaffed, blah blah, go to the floor on freaking lunch break and it's 8 students and 1 tech checking our films. So I bring up them using students as staff during the department meeting, they deny it. If my classmates weren't such pussies I'd get them all to go to lunch at 11 like the techs do just to prove to them that w/o us, they would be fucked. I know they know it, but hey, if someone will pay you to do the work you'd have to pay someone $17+/hr, I'd do it to.


UGH. Btw, I should have went into nursing.
