If the shop isn't very well versed in import engines, then yes, I'd cut my losses and move on to a shop that is more experienced in imports.

It will save you money in the long run...

I don't think they have one. But they said they worked on a proven motor thats owned by a different shop. Well come to find out the block, that they said the worked on came from someone else, in a different state. So thats going to be my final decision. I'm just taking it somewhere else.

lol im not made of money, I got my ARP main's today, so sometime next week ill be taking it doen to a different machine shop.

Believe me, SLOW IT DOWN, save your money or do what ever you need to do. This is from over a years worth of HIND SIGHT, ship it to Rich and let him do the work. Also send him the crank, the rods, the fly wheel & the ATI Super Damper, have him lighten & polish the crank & maybe knife edge it, niteride the crank and spin balance the entire assembly. Maybe even add the TMS Billet main caps-I didn't! You will be very pleased with your investment in the end, with great piece of mind.

I mean, Im not really trying to build a race car. I'm just getting a solid bottom end, for a bigger turbo, and injectors sometime down the road.

Well i got good news from my machine guy today. For won he was kinda pissed that i needed him to bore the block. From what he said its perfect for stock pistions and that it was an as-shame to bore it. But i proceeded to tell him that im using probe 84 mil pistons and that i needed to torque the mains down, put the timing cover on,and torque the tension er down. so it took him a min and he said ya that makes alot of since with all that done the motor would not flex as much. so i think im going to stick with this guy.

Why use 84 mm piston when 83mm will do? You will just end the life of that block sooner.

Yes i know this, but that's all dm had in stock when i was ordering my parts.slap my hand and tell me no next time lol i will order from you. Plus this i just a trial run for me if i blow it o well its just a builder to me. it not going to be a everyday for me. Its just something that can be bad ass and it gets me out of the house from the wife lol. I have another block to spare to.

Wait so over boring can lower the life of the block? Im having to use a .020 over piston cause a pervious machine shop didnt break the glaze correctly.

20 over is ok. but 40 like im pushing will kill a block if not done right.
