i finally got my maftpro installed last week and had a few questions to throw by you guys
1) according to the manual it says your tps reading should be 0.40v when the accel. pedal is released... mine is 0.30
what could the issue be? is this a problem?

2) while im driving at cruising speeds with the accel pedal depressed at any speed or rpm, the AFR is at my desired level, but often, if i let go of the accel. pedal the AFR goes up to 22.3 momentarily until i step on the gas again or until i come to a stop and idle.
am i really leaning out that much or is this normal?

3) most of my settings are up to par and the car is performing well but when im cruising at steady AFR and suddenly press the gas (softly or hard) the AFR momentarily jumps up between 15-17 and then back down to richer conditions. im pretty sure this has to do with the tps enrich or decay but i want to figure this out.
is this dangerous or normal?

4) i set my boost control and am pretty satisfied how hard it pulls, but while boosting through the rpm range i feel like the acceleration fades out towards the upper rpm level until i shift and it happens again. before this i never experienced this problem, it always pulled hard through every gear.
what can i do to iron this out?

unfortunately i dont have access to a laptop right now but am planning on borrowing one from a friend next week. so i dont have any logs to post right now.
any help would be appreciated. what other information would be useful to post?
thanks

your TPS could be just slightly out of adjustment. you'll want to ensure the IDL contact is operating correctly. provided it is, that shouldn't be a problem.

you'll need to take a look at your response settings.

again, response settings.

take a look at CRE's terms/definitions page:

sounds like you need to adjust your gain.

i recently upgraded to v4.8. after upgrading, i did a reset and put in my base settings. and so far everything has been going smoothly except for a few things.

1) i have my vf signal hooked up to maftpro via aux1. since i installed the pro, ive been experiencing a wierd issue. when i first start the car, the aux1 gets no reading. even after i warm it up, nothing, 0.00V. my afr are a bit high around 15-16 at idle and the ecu doesnt compensate very well during cruising. if i shut the car off after its warmed up, and start it again, everything is fine and i get a vf reading around 2.3-2.4V. anyone else having this problem.

2) about 2 days ago my vf signal started reading a little higher than usual (after i restart the car when it warms up). it used to stay around 2.3-2.4. all of a sudden its around 3.2 at idle, and goes up to 4.43 once i start driving. and it stays pegged 4.43 even after i stop driving. now my afr at idle is around 13.6 at idle. i havent changed any fuel pressure or settings except boost control. cant seem to figure out what happened to change this.

3) does anyone know where to get a quick start guide for v4.8. i know the settings are similar to v4.4 but there are a few other features that im not familiar with.

4) the other day when i started the car, the default screen on the maftpro was the config page. it says sd/tuned. now, whenever i start the car, it displays this. first of all, is the the correct setting? and why does it keep popping up?

5)and finally, in tunerpro, i dont know how to create a new bin file. or where to get a bin file for v4.8.

any help would be great. ive been searching everywhere for some answers but have come up with nothing. i am trying to get these kinks ironed out before the etown meet this saturday.
thanks a lot

a few others have noted similar behavior....

air temp changes? bad wiring?

doesn't exist....someday!

i always leave sensor monitor on when im driving. and when i shut off the car. when i start the car, the sensor monitor is usually displayed. recently, when i start the car, the config menu is displayed, and it says sd/tuned.
my thoughts of why this menu is being displayed rather than the sensor monitor is because i either have the wrong setting or there is a loose connection.
what i dont understand is why this just starting happening. i havent made any changes lately.

As far as I know, this is normal behaviour. When you release the throttle completely (IDL contact closed) and the engine is above idle speed, the ECU will cut all fuel (I do mean 100%) to the injectors until the IDL contact opens again or the engine revs come down to idle.

Since your AFR sensor is probably maxed out at 22.3, it's just showing you the highest value it can for the pure air flowing past it.

^^^^^That's right about letting off the throttle. Your AFR's will lean to max.. About the display. Mine did the same thing. I had to reset the pro and then pull my settings back in with Tuner Pro.

Looks like a case from unsolved mysteries here.

Just opening this thread back up as I am experiencing the same thing "Rich after warm start" issue after a MAFT install. I know there are others still experiencing the same thing.

Any other ideas out there?

Note: I changed my CSI Timer and Repaired my O2 wiring at the connector. Seems to have eliminated the issue
