i agree we, need a new quick start guide, something which gives a list of suggested settings for every single variable and an explanation of what each variable does would be really helpful. it's not uncommon for someone to upload a new version or something, get their old setup wiped out and have to start from scratch and maybe they'd miss something. a complete list to check with suggested settings would be very handy.
I think that would be unrealistic since there are so many variables within each person's setup and any one thing could throw something else off. Also, it would tend to hold the writer somewhat responsible (not legally of course, but perhaps morally) when something doesn't work as expected.
My thought would be to explain exactly what each setting does and how it affects the outcome of the other parameters and maybe give examples.
A quick start guide is already available, however, it doesn't match some of the available settings of the most recent software upgrades. Therefore, this would need to be updated.
The terminology also needs to be put in layman's terms. Sure it is cool to talk "engine speak" when you are seasoned at these things, but some of us are still learning all the time. When someone tells me to "pull fuel", I have to question that. Can't we just say add/decrease, etc...
These threads are extremely important and helpful for all concerned running this system. It is an awesome tuning tool if you know how to use it. I will be the first to admit that perhaps I should have started with something a bit simpler but I'm not afraid of a challenge. I said I will get it to run, and I will.
I've said it before and I'll say it again....There should be a section on here for electronics. Widebands, stand alones, SAFC, SAFC-II, MAFT PRo, turbo timers, boost controllers, tuning, questions, troubleshooting, etc...where we could all go for the answers and experiences of other users. This would provide a one-stop place for us to go for assistance rather than dozens of threads and a 90 page info-mercial, spread out through several categories, forums and websites. Something like that, I believe, would put SupraMania, head and shoulders above the other white meat.
Well, I've gotten off on a tangent here so I will just shut up, but really guys, thanks for the help !!!
